"Big Ben" had a marvelous regular season, and an equally horrendous postseason. Which version of the quarterback will show up this year? So far, word out of offseason workouts has been positive, and the coaching staff is even talking about throwing the ball a little more. The truth is he likely isn't as bad as he looked late last year, but he may still have some growing pains ahead.
Jerome Bettis really saved the Steelers last year when fellow running back Duce Staley began to miss time with a sore hamstring.
Bettis plowed his way for 941 yards and 13 touchdowns in relief and helped propel the Steelers to a 15-1 mark.
The question is how effective he can be in 2005. For one, he'll have to contend with Staley for playing time. For another, his age could begin to play more of a factor. A dominant "Bus" would provide Pittsburgh with the type of running game it is accustomed to.
I think the Steelers will come back to the pack some...they will still be good but the schedule is much tougher coming off of last year.
Last season they were 28th in passing, 2nd in rushing, and every ball bounced their way, in what turned out to be a magical season in the Steel City.
