The Money Taker: 10-13 (-1.94 units)

Breakdown:

One Unit: 6-10 (-3.98 units)
Two Unit: 3-3 (-0.96 units)
Three Unit: 1-0 (+3.00 units)
Four Unit: 0-0 (+0.00 units)

Small card today but will probably have a play or two, once all the lines are up. It will not be on baltimore, foreiting that series (just like the sd one)..

The first weekend of my new system was pretty much a wash.. I rushed a little into it and had some trouble with the selections. That will be ironed out today, i can assure you that.. A lot of my system hinges on selections and capping 1-2 days in advance.. Also strict money management is a must. With this system, the won/loss record doesnt matter greatly as it has a progression flare to it.. Not strictly Martingale by any means but it does have a component of it.. I would however like the overall record to be around (.500).. And it goes without saying that the 3-4 unit plays must hit a very high %.. A 54% winning rate on the one unit plays would be outstanding..

This system is going to work for all pro-sports, im confident even though im down a couple of units.. If all goes accordingly i should be up around (+8.00) units, when this week ends.. I have a much more detailed plan with this system and pretty much know the plays for the entire week now. However pitching changes and higher than anticipated juice could always change a few plays..

I am playing both sides and totals with this system and will continue to do so. When playing totals, i have each team rated and categorized as either an "over team" or an "under team".. Teams are also ranked and a heavy edge is given for their "home" record.. Their are only a handful of teams that i will be with on the road..

I made a few mistakes over the weekend and also did a couple of things right. Looking forward to a better week and getting back on the "Money Maker" side of this.

Plays for monday:

24. Cardinals (-1.78) 1 unit. Definately dont like laying this kind of juice but its a system play. Marlins have been playing better and are close to a .500 road team. Stl is actually better on the road than at home. Pitching matchup of Marquis (who has pitched well lately) against Valdez, this is Ismael Valdez.. This has to favor the cardinals more than numbers show.. If the Cards lose, we will be on them tomorrow for 2 units, in a matchup of Carpenter/Willis.. We should get a good price on Carpenter should we have to play that. To me, Willis is a very public pitcher, so we would be comfortable in that matchup tomorrow. Lets hope the Cards can stay hot and get the win tonight in a game featured on ESPN.

25. Oakland (+1.68) 1 unit. How can you not take a shot with this red-hot team, whether on the road or at home. I know its Santana but teams have got to him. If we lose this one, we will ride oakland again tomorrow, for either one or two units, the lines will determine that tomorrow. Haren vs. Mays looks good and if we must go to wednesday, its a harden/silva matchup.. Lets pull for the win today, hoping the offenseless twins stay offenseless and oakland can scratch out a few against the cy young winner..

No totals today as oak would fall into an over category against an under minnesota team. Stl as an over team against a borderline team in the marlins but the total is a high 9.5, so we will pass. several good opportunities tomorrow on the totals.. passing altogether on the conclusion of the braves/pirates and wsox/orioles.. series have already been determined braves and wsox, with the over cashing several times in the wsox/orioles matchup..

SSI, Good luck on today's plays! Hopefully you'll be able to call it the "Money Maker" soon! I've taken a beating with Winning Systems the past 3 days and it hurts! Poor money management on my part has cost me 90% of my bankroll! Greed and stupidity are a BAD mix!

Moe, to ever last in this, you have to stop that.. they play the anthem daily.. WS is good and like everyone else, he has his bad streaks as well.. Bankroll protection is #1 and nothing else matters.. of course thats from a serious standpoint, if your the casual hobby bettor, entertainment is more important..

SSI, I appreciate the words of wisdom! You are right, however, I fall in between the hobby bettor and the serious. I don't have the time to cap like I should which is why I usually stick to football which I have a much better grasp on! I had tripled my bankroll and lost it and got it back to that level until this last skid! I was trying to get it fattened up for the football season! I'm learning but at least it's still with the house's $! Good luck on today's games!

SSI, I think your mentality changes if you end up doing it as your only income? It's kind of like my job, I work on 100% com. but my wife has a nice salaried job with benees. I'm pretty relaxed even on a down month, but if our only household income were from my job I would be stressed out and not perform my job the same as if I have something to fall back on! Just my 2 cents. I wish you luck either way! I'm looking forward to football season. How have you done the past couple of years?

Moe, your correct about the pressure and having to win...... My plan for that is, to have a large enough bankroll to begin.. i also plan on having rental property.. i also may keep my convenience store and become less hands on.... im still over a year away and 25k away.....

as for football, i have done well.. in fact this august, i have been betting consistently for 19yrs.. the first 9 years, i had about 2 profitable ones..... the last 10yrs, i have had 8 profitable ones, the last 6 have all been profitable..

WOW SSI, that's pretty impressive to be that profitable in football! I think the key to doing this is to have a steady "other income" such as rental units or a store where someone else can run for you. I buy and sell homes off and on and sometimes put one on land contract. It's always nice to have some extra cash coming in. I don't think I could ever do this full time? It would stress me out. I do best when I play a game and check the scores later, but that takes the fun out of it and I lose my passion for the sport which I don't want to do! I love college and pro football! It is around the corner. I think I'm going to the Lions or the Bears camp in a couple of days. A buddy of mine is off for the week and wants to go. The problem is the time. Gotta go. Good luck on today's games!
