Denver and Green Bay are obvious choices, but there is one team that is an up-and-comer that might prove to be an up-and-bummer

The San Diego Chargers were 2-5 against the seven teams with winning records they played last year....10-0 against the rest of the losers on their slate. This year their schedule includes New England, Philly, Pittsburgh...A much improved AFC West with Oakland adding Randy Moss and LaMont Jordan, KC upgrading their defense, and Denver...well Denver will be Denver. Add to that an improved Buffalo, Washington, and the always tough New York Jets and you might have the making of an 8-8 or 7-9 season.

i am a die-hard broncos' fan - but i can't see us doing any better than 8-8 or 9-7 this season and in the AFC that is NOT gonna get ya a playoff spot

and i want to see Seattle prove it to me one more time. this team is a ticking timebomb that is going to explode anytime soon. could be this season and if so - YIKES!

I'll take former AFC West rival Denver and Seattle here with Denver being my top choice

and if it is Denver - don't be shocked if the 2006 Broncos are led by someone other than Shanahan!

Denver for sure

Wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta takes a nose dive.

Pittsburgh lost two key offensive linemen and lacks depth on both lines. Wouldn't surprise me if they fell hard.

Pittsburgh. They seem to be an every-other year team. Remember Bettis isn't getting any younger.

Packers look like a 6-10 team to me. Broncos will make the playoffs again, I feel pretty confident of that. Colts are perilously close to being a dissapointment, Manning is way overdue for an injury. In any case don't see how they could improve on last year and see potential downside this year. Probably still in the playoffs though.

What about the Patsies? They lost a lot (coaches and players)?

If Favre has a 1:1 ratio of TD/INT then 6-10 looks good. But we all know he will have about 34TDs and like 11 Intos 4000 passing yards and prolly get sacked 3-4 times this season.

Listen, i always back my Packers no matter what. It's just i want to believe that Favre will throw less intos this year which might happen.

As much as I enjoy watching Favre play, the Packers are toast.

Vikings and Lions are overhyped....

Week 1 Packers @ Lions will be a good one.

Regardless of individual guesses, or should I say more respectfully, informed opinions, what I find alarming is the Books make at least 3 Divisions a guess. I say this because a couple of years ago, all the talk was of Parity in the NFL, and up to last year, I have gone along with that. However, last year, I thought some big divides came about, which hasnt been breached this year in the Draft or free agency.

So, it has left me with a "am I right or the Books" At the moment all I know says the books are wrong, maybe they have just thrown their hands up at the last couple of years? and conceded, "we dont know, how the fuck are they going to" mentality. Whatever the outcome, books have never felt more uncomfortable about the NFL.
