I got this e-mail Monday and am I ever excited about the possibilities here (for the record - I replied back to this loser - from another e-mail addy and I am gonna "F" with him and see how far this goes and how much fun this will be - and when I am done - I will post all of the stuff here. I told him my name is "Mike Hunt" and I am going to try and get him to send a pic with the words "I love Mike Hunt")

From:Williams Chukwu [Esq].
33 Nnamdi Azikiwe Ave. Victoria Island,
Lagos, Nigeria.

Greatings Dear,

Let me start by introducing myself I am Barrister:Williams Chukwu (Esq.) I was the Personal Attorney to late Mr. Morris Thompson an American who was a private businessman unfortunately lost his life in the plane crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 which crashed on January 31st 2000, including his wife and only daughter.

You can read more about the crash on visiting these sites below,
1. http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/02/01/alaska.airlines.list
2. http://www.nativefederation.org/history/people/mThompson.html
Before the plane crash, Mr. Morris Thompson made a numbered fixed deposit for 18 calendar months with a value of US$ 26,400,000.00 (TWENTY SIX MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATE DOLLARS) in a bank here in Nigeria.

Upon maturity several notice was sent to him, another notification was sent and still no response came from him. I later found out that Mr. Morris Thompson and his family had been killed in that plane crash. After further investigation it was also discovered that Mr. Morris Thompson's next of kin is his daughter who died with him.

What bothers me most is that according to the laws of my country at the expiration 4 years the funds will revert to the ownership of the NIGERIA GOVERNMENT, if nobody applies to claim the funds. Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to Mr. Morris Thompson so that you will be able to receive these funds for both of us.

WHAT IS TO BE DONE:
I want you to know that I have had everything planned out so that we shall come out successfully. I prepare the necessary document that will back you up as the next of kin to Mr. Morris Thompson.

PLEASE YOU PROVIDE YOUR FULL INFORMATION SUCH AS STATED BELOW,
[1] NAME: ________________________________
[2] ADDRESS: ____________________________
[3] AGE: _________________________________
[4] SEX: _________________________________
[5] TELEPHONE: __________________________
[6] FAX: _________________________________
[7] OCCUPATION STATUS: __________________
Also be informed that this Transaction will take us just 15 working days to accomplish beginning from when I receive your Data. After you have been made the next of kin, I will also file an application to the bank on your behalf as soon as I secure the necessary approval and letter of probate in your favor for the movement of the funds to an account that will be provided by you.

This process is 100% risk free as I have set out all the modalities to see that a legalized method is used because then I will prepare all the necessary documents. Please note that utmost secrecy and confidentiality is required at all times during this transaction. Once
the funds have been transferred into your nominated bank account we shall share in the ratio of 60% for me, 35% for you and 5% set aside for any incidental expenses incurred during this transaction. If you are not interested, please delete this letter .
competent partner to conclude this transaction. Should you be interested please send me your full names, telephone, fax number and email address.
I look forward to hearing from you soon

Kind Regards,
Barrister :Williams Chukwu

My reply to him

I will post everything when done - but this is what I just sent him. My guess is the guy is "creaming his jeans" (or whatever he wears) upon reading this:

Dear Barrister Williams,

I got this e-mail from you the other day. Needless to say I am thrilled at the prospects of this venture. However you never say what kind of investment is needed on my behalf. I only have about $750,000 to invest in this. I hope that is enough. If not, I guess I could take out a 2nd Mortgage on my house and make it $1.5 Million - but that is about as much as I can afford to invest here. I hope we can talk more in the future and do business down the line. I am so honored you chose me for this venture. It tells me right off the bat how trustworthy I know you must be.

Sincerely,

Mike Hunt

My friend Degenerategambler got one of the same type of emails from Nigeria last year. He strung them along for months. Was hilarious to hear each new story that they gave him and things they said.

A Canadian TV News program (W5) investigated one of these Nigerian email scumbags.. i mean scammers... set up an appointment to meet one of their contacts in Copenhagen, Denmark at a cafe' (Denmark is the only place that it is not illegal) The Canadian news crew had the hidden camera rolling. So the Nigerian shows up at the cafe'. The W5 correspondent reveals his identity. The Nigerian bolts like a bat out of hell. Later that day the Canadian crew receive a phone call at their motel room from these Nigerians with a warning that if they don't leave Copenhagen immediately, they will be knocked off. Very interesting piece.

The American public has finally caught onto the scam for the most part but for a while this was huge in Nigeria. It was (and still may be) like the 3rd biggest money making industry in all of Nigeria. Estimated that many millions of dollars have been lost to this scam.

Would be great if you could turn the con back on him and get him to actually travel somewhere to another country to collect your "investment funds" lmao...

Maybe send him on a wild goose chase in Nigeria?

They have already sent my 2,000,000 to me, but I had to give teh rest back to them. Which of course I gave them back their share!!!

Hey by the way, you know what I love to do with these guys? I love to send bogus banking info and let them try it for a few days.

Also for the phishing scams, I ROUTINELY email back info that is bogus and of course NOT me. Some of those phishing groups make well over $50,000 a day from their exploits. They love to use ebay and say that ebay will close your account if you dont confirm that you are INDEED the legitamate user. One key way to see that it is a scam is if they ask for your mother's maiden name and the password to your debit card! The emails will look EXACTLY like it came from ebay or paypal, but send them bogus info back!
