BOS Situation

I have had a discussion with Rx. management regarding the feasibility of keeping BOS as an Rx. advertiser. We are very much willing to remove the banner, but first management has been in touch with BOS in order to get a statement from them regarding this old dispute from 1998. We have asked them to discribe the difference between what was then Big Nasa, and what is now BOS, and also to address the staus of this old dispute as it now stands. Depending on the response the Rx. will take the appropriate action, even if we have to remove their advertising from the home page.

In spite of what some may say, management does listen to the posters and moderators. Hopefully we can report back in this thread quickly.

Please be patient, Thanks, wil.

Why don't you take down their banners first, wait until they respond and have past issues resolved then put them back up.

The burden of proof is on them.

Bringing up old disputes is only going to open up a whole new can of worms. rx management has really put you mods in a difficult position.

What are the requirements for a new advertiser?

Willy BOS is old news...unless they've really mended their ways this shouldn't even be up for debate.

I know I've been gone for awhile but I don't remember BOS advertising before I left. I wish I could PM you on this (Admin@RX hint hint) but does BOS coming in coincide with Ken and Pete's departure?

IT just amazes me how firey some people are over something from 7 years ago, and I am not trying to say that is for better or for worse

BOS is a now a publicly traded company backed by millions and millions. Their operation is on top of a mall that takes up 4 floors and has a swimming pool.

I read this thread :

http://forum.therx.com/showthread.php?t=224908

A very well known sharpie still was playing there not too long ago, to bet into their likeable numbers and said they always pay timely.

Surely there are not the same company as the one from 7 years ago :icon_conf It will be interesting to read their statement.

Guys I am not going to answer a lot of questions that I don't know much about. I will say that BOS coming on board had nothing to do with any ex-employees or owners.

Archimides, as far as set in stone criteria for new advertisers goes, that is a good question, and perhaps I can find out what we do use, if not establish some new criteria.

Drunkguy, I know nothing about Judge's friend, sorry.

Sportbet, like you said "unless" - let's see what they have to say.

Thanks, wil.

Rob, I wish you were the one stiffed by these people to see if you would still make a bullshit statement like you just posted. It doesn't fucking matter if it happened 7, 10, 15 years ago.

How come you got selected to be a mod is just amazing.

Funk, you have proven in recent posts that you are worthy of the 'most clueless moderator on any forum' award. The book has a swimming pool?

Didya know they also have a day care!

Thanks for all the laughs today, though.

Rob,

If they are so big and rich, they should have no trouble paying what they owe. But they did not pay.

Rob, you are truly stupid or just a yes man to make a statement about how surprised you are that people are so fired up about something that happened 7 years ago. It was fucking $500,000. You ever thought that $500,000 helped build that pool you are so impressed about.

I'm just curious about a statement, it's not flame Rob time. I am not defending some 500k dispute.

Where else do they advertise???

Let's condemn all those places and their editors, marketing directors etc.

Calling yourself a watchdog site though puts the RX in a peculiar situation though with it's advertisers though as many here patronize those books.

Just wondering where else they advertise?

Where else? Everywhere...they like to spend a truckload of money on advertising.

BOS to me is ESB with more marketing.

Doc, I'm sorry you feel that way. Just wanted to post a reply with a thread link and say some things about where they are today and it is mysterious how huge BOS is, it is hard to believe it's the same company from 7 years ago. I am looking forward to seeing what they have to say.

Sorry if something got misunderstood in that, I'm not saying anyone is wrong or right but thanks for the reply just the same.

I was around here when that dispute was being talked about in some threads I read every last reply I am very well versed on it. Thanks for the concern, but I am not trying to boost anyone here.

5Team - the word watchdog is a bit inaccurate when describing The Rx. we are an information site, a discussion site, and also a place on the internet where offshore players can find help with sportsbook disputes. Do we go out go out and rate sportsbooks like some other sites do (Rx. Sportsbook URL aside) no we do not. We also do not have the power to make any book captitulate in a dispute if they do not want to, we can only try to negotiate in good faith. I don't know of anywhere on the site where it says "watchdog". Bottom line The Rx. is not the internet sportsbook police. We offer a forum open to posters to exchange ideas about gambling, and at times other topics. We will always try to help posters when asked though.
