Looking just now at what teams have done what so far and really like what the Nets did. Signed Shareef Abdur-Raheem for the power foward spot, brought in Jeff McGuiness to back up Kidd and will have Reggie Jefferson for a full season.

Heat are beatable, Pistons lose Larry Brown and Pacers lose Reggie Miller.

Anyone else think they have a shot?

Pacers lost Miller, but they get Artest back and they signed that international stud.

I honestly think the Pacers will win around 62 games and grab the 1 seed for the playoffs.

They will be dynamite as long as Artest can stay level headed for 82 gms + playoffs, and avoid the hoard of injurys they had last year.

I know Indiana got that guy from Lithuaina to replace Miller, but Artest is such a nut case. It's hard to count on him for a whole season.

The Nets are still a small team, the Pistons are still the team to beat and the Heat are about to add A.Walker which is a piece they were missing in 05. I'll take the PISTONS! MAY'N!

They have a definate shot but I think they will have to get a big body of some sort to match up with Detroit and Miami inside. Jump shots don't usually win playoff series but they will be an exciting team without a doubt.

Antoine Walker is the reason why I DON'T like the Heat this year. See what he did to the Mavs when he was there. Takes stupid shots and is brutal on defense. Some how his act was workable with the Celtics because of Pierce, but not on Miami.

Brown's overrated as a coach. If he had exploited the correct mismatches in the finals, the Pistons would have won the series (although i'm really glad they didn't). Brown stole Carlisle's championship.

No. I like them to win division. Make playoffs again, but those Atlantic squads are weak. Tony, not all black guys are named Reggie. But getting Jefferson back would be huge. Got some legit 7 footers, and Kidd, Vince and Richard good for scoring. Decent team in a crappy division. But if all healthy, and exit preseason healthy, a team to watch.

Ive always thought the Nets are the stereotype losers...

As long as Shaq and Wade stay together they have a better chance.
As long as the Detroit squad stays together they have a better chance.

The only thing going for the nets is the fact that the East absolutely blows. Oh and add to that the fact that Kidd isnt really happy there...

Carter plays 20-25 games max.......one injury, maybe two....Shareef cannot have the ball in his hands in the last 10 minutes of the game....I rank, Miami, Detroit, Indiana and Cleveland all ahead of NJ.

Actually Kidd got happy when they got Vince, and now is locked in long term. His wife loves New York. He also has a backup, who can bring the ball up, lessen his regular season minutes. McInnis is a solid backup. Shareef is a big aquisition, can board and score. They lost Scalabrine to Celts, so they needed to fill that hole. They drafted well, now have 3 legit 7 footers, something rare in the east. Krstic actually played well, so they drafted his clone Ilic, who is 7' 1", a bit more raw, but has the frame to bulk up. Good looking kid with solid upside. They have really improved the team, no doubt. They could have a lineup with 5 scorers. A sleeper at this juncture.

Best Wishes...oF:howdy:
