I would think some have decided its better to just check in afterwards..I know my friend SSI does not watch most of his action....

I would think most players do watch, and most probably watch every play.

I sweat every minute of the action I have for the evening. I have two sports pagers, G&J GOLD Line Update Service, plus I have two computers in my house.

I've probably taken away 5 years of my life just worrying and stressing.

Absolutely not! I remember the old days of having to call the score phone every 3 -5 minute for new scoring updates, having to listen to Ron from All Star Sports, Gary from Bullseye Sports of Texas, the Lock Line or the N.Y. Wise Guys!

I watch every game I can. It makes life more interesting. I probably wouldn't watch a game between two teams I don't care about except if I have money on the game.

LMAO...the scorephone days...having to sit thru The Animal and Johnny Demarco talk about their late game action, just to get a 3 minute update!

Been there a million times!

And back in the day that scorephone was excellent, they were very quick and accurate (with updates) :drink:

Depends... watching the action can teach a lot about the game, particularly football, hockey, or anything else that an injury or something can go unnoticed just by watching a box score. Basketball and baseball are easier to watch on Sportsline than say football is, because short of the quarterback and the running back, can you tell if someone's injured just by watching a score tick across the screen? Not that in the NFL that injury won't be brought to light immediately the next week, but in the AFL, injuries aren't reported very well, thus following the games play by play always helps, particularly watching the game live.

But yes, for baseball and basketball, I'm always watching too... I try to force myself to study while watching games online if nothing's on TV. Passes the time faster and I find myself retaining more information when I'm studying while watching Sportsline go by... funny how that works.

That is very true considering I rarely play an over. In any case I always try to watch as I am a scouting and feel type handicapper and I would not do as well if I didn't watch as many games as possible.

I'm about the same way, do "look-ins" in key stages of the game while I'm monitoring all the games on sportsline.

I feel the same way chalkeater. My friend's think I am more stressed out then anyone they have ever seen. I have a sportspager and I am always watching the plays on my computer. Lately I have been working on not being so stressed out but it is very tough to change my ways.

TOTALS ARE THE WORST!!!

If you have the over every single out/missed basket/or FG instead of TD seems to piss me off and Vise Versa if you have the under.

no doubt about it Kruser, stress will catch up to ya'...I've become a lot better capper by NOT watching the entire game, believe it or not

Im glad scorephones are basically obsolete now. I listened to more than my share of Jack Price, Johnny DeMarco, Will "the Winner" Rogers, and Jimmy the Fixer just to get to scores. The worst was when the score didn't update every 10 or 15 minutes like it was supposed to; you'd listen to different tout commercials only to have the same score update.

Those were the days...haha
