Playing ONLINE poker ...6 seated VS 9 seated

Do you have a better chance to get a better starting hand playing at the 9 seater ....I know your hand is worth more at a 6 seater but I have noticed while playing at Doylesroom I get better starting cards at the 9 seater games ..Is there a reason for this or is it just the luck of the draw , so to speak

I'm not big on cards..just Go Fish and Rummy....but my guess would be ummm 'no difference'...just a guess lol

I believe they use a 52 card deck, irrespective of the number of the seats at the table, from which you are dealt two hole cards at holdem.

All the odds of your starting hands are still exactly the same. However you are right that your hand is worth more.

chance??? i dunno. but you do have to adjust your starting hands requirements when playing 6 seated, which is why brunson recommends it only for expert players...you cant sit and wait for premium hands or you will turn into broomcorns uncle at 6 seats.....

if you dont know who broomcorns uncle is i suggest you go get brunsons book today.....

thanks guys I think ill stick to the 9 seated tables ....I thought the 6 seated with less people sucking out on you and your hand being worth more that was the best place to play...Ill rethink it

I like the 6 seat game b/c if you win, the payout is the same as the 9 player, however it only pays 1st and 2nd place , when 9 player pays 1,2,3. I fair better in the 6 player game and it doesn't take as long. However , you can get your money back if you place 3rd in the 9 player game
You get a better feel for the players and the tempo in 6 player and my strategy seems to develop quicker and truer.

IMO the game is totally different

I prefer playing shorthanded, but if you are used to full 9 or 10 player tables, you might want ot stick there

One can afford to play a little more tight in a 9-seated game rather than a 6-seated game because you will have your own blinds to deal with 33% of the time in a 6-seated game compared to only 22% of the time in a 9-seated game.

In general, I just find that the quality of your competition is higher in the 6 seat table than the 9-seat table. It seems to me that the good players like to avoid the extra luck needed in a 9-seat table.
