Yes, Bush is on vacation... for the 49th time. I pay taxes so this guy can have a salary? He doesn't even work!

President Bush is getting the kind of break most Americans can only dream of: nearly five weeks away from the office, loaded with vacation time.

The president departed yesterday for his longest stretch yet away from the White House, arriving at his Crawford ranch in the evening for a round of clearing brush, visiting with family and friends, and tending to some outside-the-Beltway politics. It is the longest presidential retreat in at least 36 years.

The August getaway is Bush's 49th trip to his cherished ranch since taking office and the 319th day that Bush has spent, entirely or partially, in Crawford — nearly 20 percent of his presidency to date, according to Mark Knoller, a CBS Radio reporter known for keeping better records of the president's travel than the White House itself. Weekends and holidays at Camp David or at his parents' compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, bump up the proportion of Bush's time away from Washington even further.

Bush always claims these are "working vacations". So does that mean that 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is Bush's actual vacation home?

You clowns should be happy he's taking a vacation, he can't do anything right for you when he's in Washington, but you still find something to bitch about. I guess he's not as talented as his predecessor, who could receive a blow job while working at the oval office helping direct the war in Kosovo.

Looks like his August, 2001 "working vacation". Wonder if he''ll bother to read national security memos this time, or at least glance at the memo titles.

I bet most of us wish our jobs allowed us to go away for 5 weeks in a strech.

It's funny that Bush likes to pretend he does his own yardwork. They even go to the trouble of arranging photos with him in his cowboy costume.

Other than P.R. staying in Wash DC means nothing and has no advantage. What is it he cant do in Tx that could be done in DC?

Good point. He doesn't do anything useful in either location.

Does anyone really believe the President of The Unites States is EVER on vacation in this day and age? He is on call every second of everyday...

I must admit, when someone said dress him up in his cowboy costume, i laughed pretty hard..

Speaking of Clinton and his bj. That stain of genetic material on ML dress had
more brain matter in it than this idiot has in his entire makeup.

The "Grecians" are coming, what a moron.
