Not. He tried to save her live and almost lost his life in the process. This good deed cost him his reputation and career. Why should such a good deed result in such a detriment. What a sad story. What a tragedy. So sad !

He did not fake injury. He received blunt systemic trauma which included an aggravation of a preexisting condition. Some post traumatic stress stuff as well, I think. I saw him on television the day after he tried to save her life. He looked shaken up.

Looked shaken up? What the next day when he rembered what he did?

Heres his statement to police:And I quote....

"On July 18, 1969, at approximately 11:15 PM in Chappaquiddick, Martha's Vinyard, Massachusetts, I was driving my car on Main Street on my way to get the ferry back to Edgartown. I was unfamiliar with the road and turned right onto Dike Road, instead of bearing hard left on Main Street. After proceeding for approximately one-half mile on Dike Road I descended a hill and came upon a narrow bridge. The car went off the side of the bridge. There was one passenger with me, one Miss Mary ( Kennedy was not sure of the spelling of the dead girl's last name, and offered a rough phonetic approximation ), a former secretary of my brother Sen. Robert Kennedy. The car turned over and sank into the water and landed with the roof resting on the bottom. I attempted to open the door and the window of the car but have no recolection of how I got out of the car. I came to the surface and then repeatedly dove down to the car in an attempt to see if the passenger was still in the car. I was unsuccessful in the attempt. I was exhausted and in a state of shock. I recall walking back to where my friends were eating. There was a car parked in front of the cottage and I climbed into the back seat. I then asked for someone to bring me back to Edgartown. I remember walking around for a period of time and then going back to my hotel room. When I fully realized what had happened this morning, I immediately contacted the police."

So he was either so drunk he couldnt remember and shouldnt have been driving....or was sober (LOL) failed to notify anyone immediately that night to keep what hed done as quiet as possible, you know until the family could take care of business.

Must be nice to be the following:

* Board Member @ Harken Energy that made over 800k on Insider Trading and had it shut down by Daddy when the SEC started sniffing

* President who used lies that has cost this country over 1800 of our finest soldiers

Wow ... and this is a man folks voted for?

Kinda makes you wonder how the Dems (socialists) couldnt gain the office of President. If GWB is as bad as youd have us beleive....how bad was the competition in both elections?Im mean Kerry was a "war hero" and couldnt take the mantle of protector from Bush? Im begging you....ask a soldier upon his/her return if he/she feels like they made a difference...if what they were fighting for was honorable. You may not like your answer.....BTW was there ever a war worth fighting? Revolutionary War maybe? Civil War? Just wars on our own soil perhaps....The terrorists have caused the casualties as far as I can tell.

That's cause the press was badgering him and he got a little nervous.

Karl Rove came up with the idea of tapping into the homophobe vote, distracting millions of voters from his candidates shortcomings by making them think the real threat was a gay couple moving in next door.

A drunk, Teddy Kennedy was responsible for one unfortunate young girls'death. How many innocent young kids has George W been responsible for? Thousands? Maybe he is just 'misunderstood'!

Lets not forget about another "accident" ...this one involved George Bush's wife and one has to wonder if this had happened to Hilliary Clinton that all we would hear from Limbaugh / Hannity how she was a killer who took the life of another human being:

In May 2000, a two-page police report pertaining to a fatal accident that had taken place near Midland, Texas, in 1963 was made public. It contained the information that 17-year-old Laura Welch had run a stop sign, causing the death of the sole occupant of the vehicle hers had struck. According to that report, the future First Lady had been driving her Chevrolet sedan on a clear night shortly after 8 p.m. on 6 November 1963 when she entered an intersection without heeding the stop sign and there collided with the Corvair sedan driven by 17-year-old Michael Douglas. Also in the car with Laura Welch was a passenger, 17-year-old Judy Dykes.

The wife of Gov. George W. Bush was responsible for a traffic accident that killed a high school classmate in Midland 37 years ago, according to a newly released accident report. Investigators said a 1963 Chevrolet driven by Mrs. Bush - then Laura Welch, a high school senior - ran a stop sign and struck a Chevrolet Corvair driven by Michael Douglas. Copies of the accident report - parts of which are illegible - were released Wednesday by Midland City Attorney Keith Stretcher after state Attorney General John Cornyn held that the information was public....Mr. Stretcher, the Midland city attorney, initially declined to release any information about the accident on the grounds that it involved minors and therefore was exempt from disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act. He also contended that disclosing the information would violate the parties' privacy rights. Police listed two violations as contributing to the accident, both by Mrs. Bush. One checked box read "disregard stop sign or light," and the other was illegible....Both drivers were Robert E. Lee High School students. Neither was drinking, and no citations were issued, according to the report." - Dallas Morning News, May 4, 2000

Doc: Teddy and Laura Bush's killings fall into the there by the grace of God go I category, but. Dubya does not have this excuse that every day more people are killed in Iraq just to make w and his buddies more money. I hope through some form of all-powerful being, George W gets his just reward someday knowingly getting innocents killed.

Was Laura Bush drunk when the accident occurred. Did she go home and go to bed before the police were notified? Friggin idiots...."Neither was drinking".

Very weak comparison. How about shooting a defenseless Vietnamese child in the back as hes running away? Now that has to be murder,no?Oh wait he was holding a rocket launcher....LOLOLOLOL.JF Kerry my hero.

BTW is every president who sends troops to war a murderer? None of you have shared with me what you consider a "just war".I guess if nothing, not even your own safety is important enough, then nothing will be.

They were BOTH accidents that took the life of another human being ...

again, if this happened to Hilliary Clinton the Bushies would tell us time and time again that she is a Murderer ...

And the Vietnam saga .... you werent there and at least Kerry had the guts to go to Vietnam while your hero sat @ home snorting coke and going AWOL ... then again, what good is serving in Vietnam when the Bushies spread lies about McCain - a man who spent 6 yrs in a Vietnam Prison

The real "Traitors" to this country as jackasses who turn their head and refuse to address the corruption and greed that defines the Mafia Style form of Govt implemented under Bush
