I know it seems that most people enjoy betting football and even basketball more than bases. But its almost indisputable that the #1 money maker of all major sports is baseball.

Maybe its because people enjoy betting into pointspreads more than moneylines. Maybe its because football is just more popular than baseball. Whatever the reason, dont get distracted by the upcomming football season.

There is not a sport in the world where you can consistantly win over 100 units a year betting with 3 units or less per play than baseball. I challenge anyone to name 1 football capper in the entire world who can win 100 units in an entire football season betting 3 units or less. It just dont exist.

This is not saying that you cant win in football. Its just not as easy to do. A tremendous football season is 40 units. I tremendous baseball season is 100+ units.

There will be at least 4 or 5 tracked cappers this year at the RX with over 100 units this season in baseball.
I will bet anyone whos willing that you will not have more than 3 people in the football tracker this year with over 50 units.

Just my 2 cents.

Baseball without question the #1 money maker in all sports.

CT, I believe you are comparing apples and oranges here. You are correct in saying that baseball is the #1 moneymaker, but I would have to say that is because of games played in a season (opportunites to bet and win). Number of games = number of chances to win units.
MLB: 162 games x 30 teams = 4,860 max games to bet on in a regular season
NFL: 16 games x 32 teams = 512 max games to bet on in a regular season.

I also believe that the difference is directly related to spreads vs. MLs. In MLB, there are no ties, you either win or lose when you bet on a side.

As for me personally, I'm with you on betting MLB with 3 units or less per game and ending up over 100 units in the long run. In my bankroll, 1 unit = $100 in MLB, but when it comes to football, 1 unit = $200.

In conclusion, for me at least, the VALUE PER UNIT is higher in football compared to MLB. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and GL with your MLB picks today!

BigBen since the 30 baseball teams have to play each other there are only 2,430 baseball games to bet on in the regular season and 216 NFL games during the regular season. Don't forget many people make the majority of their money in football betting on college games. Some like baseball best some football and others basketball. That's why I visit these forums so I can make money on all three. GL

Yes, you are right...I stand corrected. What I meant was that there were 4,860 SIDES in MLB and 5,12 SIDES in the NFL to wager on. Good luck to everyone, may all your bets be winners!!!

You can't compare football with baseball

hi,

as BigBen already said, you can't compare both because of quantity of games.
Yes, you are right when you say that you can win 100+Units in Baseball. But believe me: Those people who do this on regular basis are hard to find. There are only a few people with a lot talent for betting baseball like you or bucsfan who are making big money, but the mayority is loosing big.In Football most bettors are not making that big money like in baseball but there is a bigger quantity of bettors who are making money.
The reason is simple: Baseball is the most unpredictable Sport. And i think a lot of people will agree with that as i heard this sentence in different betting communities everyday.
The Colts or Patriots will not loose against the Dolphins or Bears 3x at home, but the Angels can loose without a problem 3x at home against the Mariners. Or what about the Yankees? They lost against KC. You see in Baseball big favourites loosing everyday. You don't see this that often in Football.Let the White Sox play against the Rockies and the Angels against Royals and it is without a problem possible they are loosing both.

Just my opinion.

cheers,

colton
