Boy oh BOY are Fez & I on different pages on this game. Anything can happen-especially in these emotionally super-charged local rivalries, but I really think that Iowa State is getting overrated this year.

I'll be on Iowa -7 in this game, one way or another.

Clones as a HOME DOG deserves a look.

If it goes under 7 then I take Iowa. But, at +7.5 I take the Clowns.

I have followed BOTH of these teams, as well as most people native to Iowa, on a daily basis since spring camp.

But it doesn't really matter what you know or think you know about this game, except the fact that IOWA STATE is getting +7 or more at home and represents a very good wager.........WIN or LOSE!

Last year ISU only lost by 7 @ IOWA!

IOWA has won the last two meetings, but IOWA STATE the previous five!

IOWA STATE returns 16 starters combined on both sides of the ball, led by Independant Bowl MVP QB Bret Meyer.

The scheduling should not effect either team, as this game is sandwiched between two cupcake games for each squad.

Iowa State head coach, former Hawkeye assistant Dan McCarney, takes no greater joy than beating the Hawkeyes.

Please note, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz is 47-24-2 against the spread in his tenure at Iowa!

Emotion will be SKY HIGH in this affair, it is trully one of the great games early on in the 2005 CFB season.

As a Hawkeye fan, I would like nothing better than the Hawks to trounce the Clones by nothing less than 40 points!

However, my money will be on the Cyclones in this spot, plus the very generous +7 or more points!

should be a great early season match-up. clones getting a t.d.-plus has value.
iowa will have a new defensive line. they'll be up against an experienced i.s.u.
offense. in fact, i like lots of offense in this game.

Cyclones are very woofable vs. Iowa.

Meyer and Hicks are better than any offensive weapons from the Hawkeyes.

This upset has been previously discussed.

fezzik is one of the best although i lean to iowa in this one at the current time. Fezzik is a very well liked and respected handicapper and its usually ill advised to go against him.

As a hawkeye fan that bleeds black and gold(and who will be attending his 12th straight Iowa-ISU game....:103631605 ) I can't take ISU plus the 7.5, which would probably be the play here. I will bang the over if its resonable--say 47.5 or lower.

The Cyclowns whole season is this game; they beat Iowa and go 2-8 the rest of the year and McCarney gets a 5 year contract extention...:lolBIG:

I'll believe they are a decent team AFTER I see them compete with my Hawks...Meyer better than Tate? Nope. Hicks better than Simmons? Nope. Assuming Simmons is fully healed from last season...

I love home dogs, especially early in the season. Clones did play Hawkeyes very tough in Iowa City last year and appear to be a live dog.

My problem is that I follow the Big XII closely and I saw ISU blow too many games with poor play last year. The most notable was the season finale vs. Mizzou--with a win the Clones would have clenched the anemic Big XII North division for the first time EVER!!!!! Mizzou was beaten up and disillusioned at that point, and ISU could not get the "W" even at home.

I will probably take the Clones + points for 1 unit, but for everyone talking about moneyline, there is a LOT to be said about knowing how to win and winning tradition in college football. I could easily see Iowa winning by a late FG. GL
