Las Vegas is booming all over, but the casinos didn't get this way treating customer service as an afterthought. While casino cages are flush with cash, and rooms are mostly booked at higher rates, casinos don’t seem to be going out of the way for guests as much.

Wynn hasn't been charging admission to Ferrari for well over a Month now and if Security at the Plaza is kicking free loaders out of the book it's because there guests and paying customers are complaining.

C'mon Bill you're better than this misleading tripe of an article.

Your overall point is that customer service is weak, but you are taking isolated cases and making generalities.
Bill, I respect you but didn't care for the article.

without reading the article and also without getting into details of "why it might be expected that they do x,y,z" I had several incidents at the Bellagio

1) they charge 10 dollars for a network cable so that I can then pay 15 bucks was it? for internet service, granted, my stupidity, I forgot to bring one of the 300 I have at home

2) their business center lost a courier package that was sent there, took them about 4 hours to find it and by then I figured that they simply left (as the business center closes at 6 pm) ........cell phone IN the box all night, day after 43 voicemails

3) they charge 25 dollars plus tax to put a fridge in your room? Sometimes it seems that the higher end you go the less things you can get without paying a bunch of $

Charlie edited out the part where I mentioned they did rescind the admission charge after the place was empty night after night, not sure why it wasn't left in there.

As for the Plaza, I watched the security guy ask every single person for a betting ticket or pass to sit in their little area in front of the sports TVs. None of these guys were sleeping or doing anything but sitting there. It was insane. I watched it for a couple minutes until there was no one sitting there and then asked the guy why he did it. He gave me a nasty look and told me it was none of my business. Happened on Tuesday morning at 8:35am this past week.

Take it or leave it, just my opinion. Sure its just two incidents, but service in this town is going downhill unless you pay the big bucks for it. And I am not the only one making this contention, I have heard it from many people, both locals and tourists.

Bill,

OK here's mine but I don't write first page material ...

It's a double edged sword. What you don't see are the trashed rooms, the rude obnoxious drunken tourists that shit on the employees but still expect to have thier asses kissed. Did I mention sorry assed losers who file bogus Security Reports so they can cry to risk management for comps ?

It works both ways. We like to treat people the way we would like to be treated, pretty simple concept ... huh ?

But ...

What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas ... IOW, you can be an asshole, but heaven forbid we ever are.

You won't find me being an ass anywhere. I never said your job was easy, but the attitudes are clearly there in the upper offices with the people I deal with K1. Its good you work for a place where the owner believes people like yourself are so crucial because its an attitude hard to find around here. I know how people at the MGM corporate offices treat people a few rungs below them. Its SHAMEFUL!

These are the people I refer to here, sorry if you feel I assumed you were part of them because that was not my intention. The line workers are doing a good job in the face of reduced staffing and bigger crowds. The people a few steps above them are the people I have the issue with. I surely don't think the security guard rustled the people out of the chairs because he thought it was a good idea. Someone above him told him it was a policy and he followed it. The sales people might have complained in the Ferrari dealer about the crowds, but some manager above them came up with the brilliant idea to clear the room out. These are the people who are ruining customer service, but once again it is just my opinion.
