What's the point of the Poker Forum?

When every other thread in the Offshore Forum is poker related?

I really don't get it....

You guys move any Political etc etc thread to it's appropriate forum, but it's a double standard for poker, I just don't get it...

I wonder how the people at Doyle's Room feel about this subject?

I really don't mean to be negetive and it seems I'am alot of the time when I post, but I must talk when somthing get's on my nerves...

We have been moving a lot of poker threads into the poker forum after they get some feedback here in offshore. Unfortunately when a thread starts in the Poker Forum it has a tendency to die there. Politics is a bad anology, mainly because at least poker is gambling related, while politics are just that politics.

The other problem is posters get upset when their threads get moved (see rubber room whinning) so we try to at least leave poker threads here for a day or two or until they hit page two.

I know I haven't really answered your question "What's the point of having a Poker Forum"?. Fish wanted the Poker Forum moved up to the number two position (where Bookie Chit Chat is now) a while back, I am not sure if that would help a lot, as many posters just like posting Offshore. Like you say Poker really took off - making it such a popular subject that it is virtually impossible to keep poker discussion solely in the Poker Forum itself.

rx needs traffic

Of course traffic offshore is better than traffic in the Poker Forum. Geesh.

Wil, I'm fine with whatever in the main room, but to make those that are unhappy with poker threads in the main room, why don't you move them ALL to the poker room and eventually the traffic will follow there.....assuming there are enuff people NOT liking the poker threads in the main room....

Sherman the real reason is like I said poster sensitivity to having posts moved. Fishhead has been systematically moving threads a couple of days after they appear Offshore in an effort to revive Poker.

Kidslick, good question, and you could be right it probably would conflict with advertiser interests. I doubt if you will see The Rx. accepting any post-up money for any reasons the way the site is set up presently.
