I have never learned how these work. Could someone give me a situation in how you would use a reverse bet? Thanks in advance
Reverses Wagers
Reverse wagers are always double action IF bets.
Win Reverse and Action Reverse Bets are simply two to five straight bets "If Bets" joined together that work in both directions of the "If" clause. The risk is the same for all the wagers in the reverse, and you are not allowed to buy points on a reverse wager.
When you make a Win Reverse Bet, you ONLY have action on the second part of the wager IF the first team wins. If the first team ties, or is cancelled there is no action on the second part of the wager.
When you make an Action Reverse Bet, IF the first team wins, ties or cancels, you still have action on the second part of the wager.
Example:
Part A Part B
Packers -5 $110 to win $100 Packers -5 $110 to win $100
IF ( win, tie or cancel ) IF ( win, tie or cancel )
Bears -14 $110 to win $100 Bears -14 $110 to win $100
Payout
If both teams win +$400
One win, one loss -$120
Both teams lose -$220
Push +$200
A two team Reverse bet merely reverses the order of an initial "if bet"; however, if there are three or more teams, then the reverse bet would be broken down or "boxed" into all the possible two team "if" bets using those three teams and each of those "if" bets would be reversed. The sequence that would be used would be as follows.
If X wins, ties or cancels then Y > If Y wins, ties or cancels then X.
If X wins, ties or cancels then Z > If Z wins, ties or cancels then X.
If Y wins, ties or cancels then Z > If Z wins, ties or cancels then Y.
Therefore a three-team reverse is actually going to be six separate "if" bets, or twelve separate straight bets. If each of the teams in this reverse were for $100.00, then the actual amount of money that you would be risking would be $660.00, or $110.00 on each of the "if" bets, in order to win a maximum of $1,200.00. The more teams selected in the reverse the more possible combinations there will be and the higher the amount of money that must be risked.
