I was talking with SportSavant about this a few days ago...he was telling me about the parlay cards you can play at the corner convenience store...the odds aren't quite as good but from what I understand, the odds are set early in the week...

It would seem to me there would be good value on a 4 teamer (which pays 9-1) if you wait til near game time ...I would think you could find 4 games that have moved considerably by then...

Do most of the Canadian players take a shot on these cards ?

You could also hedge if you played one late game, and possibly even middle I would think...is this worth it?

I believe the limit is 100 per card:digit:

Personally I never play pro line the odds are awful plus if you win over 300 dollars you gotta go to the head office in downtown toronto (which isn't a big deal for me since I am 30 mins away) but I imagine it would be a pain if you had to mail it in

Does 3 teamers pay 6-1 or 7-1 ?

In most cases it pays 5-1, Quebec has some of the worst odds, 8-1(4 teamer), 15-1, 30-1(6 teamer) , yes the lines in Quebec come out a week in advance for hockey for example but horrible paying odds don't make it enticing at all.

Oregon offers betting on the NFL through there lottery and the odds are locked in for 3&4 teamers and 5 teams and up are based on pari-mutual payouts which 99.9% of the time are a rip off.Even with the bad payoffs for 3&4 teamers you can find some value because the spreads come out on Tuesdays and they tend to shade the favorites and public teams.

Opening Lines come out on Tuesday and you have untill Thursday night to get down any action on those lines.

On Friday, they come out again and 80% of the time the lines are different. Maybe a point up or down. Sometimes they come over or under the 3 7 or 10 key numbers.

If you can find a couple weak numbers and then play the late sunday or monday nighter, it puts you in great position to lay off, middle or double up if you really like your play.

It really gets interesting when the sunday or monday night game has a spread around the key numbers, cuz you bet the fav on Pro-Line and then watch the line move towards the Dog, then u hit it.

So if you can find 2 winners on a weekly basis, and play around that 3rd game, you can make some nice coin working around/with proline.

Another game they started last year was the pick all winners card. All you do is pick the winners each week, no spread and it costs $5. Most weeks last year you had to have gone perfect. Average price payout for winning a weekly was like $350,000.00.

Not bad for $5 eh ?

They posted some college hoops #'s that were very soft for about a month, until some people caught on to it and straightened them out.:103631605

They would post all the college hoops lines a week in advance, some of the lines were 3-4 points off what you would find offshore and sometimes with line movement, you would get games 6-7 points off.:monsters-

Even with the shitty payout odds, if one knew what they were doing, you could create some nice parlays that had theoretical holds in the 7-10 % range.:dancefool

Sadly, they now post the odds each day after they check the vegas overnights so unless something moves 4-5 points in 1 day, your'e out of luck.:sad3:

This was my point...but , it looks like they have sharpened up, and not let the lines become too stale :finger:

I looked at totals offered by Loto Quebec on NFL & Hoops last season. Odds are 1.70/1.70 both ways. You'll need one helluva line move to be close to not completely fucked up by such a book.

On the Surface, if you look at the Odds, it sure seems like a scam, but upon further examination, Value can be found.....

Take a look at this thread from last years NFL football where I cashed in on one weekend:

They had some holes in it, but fixed. They had MLB player props, stuff like Posada vs. Varitek when NYY play Boston. You could bet stuff like total bases, get line-up half hour before game, find tek not playing, bet Posada and get paid, according to a Canadian friend.

Prolines' heyday was in 92-93 with they first started. Odds were great, six points favorites would have to win by four paying 2.00! You could play a 3 team parlay betting 5 to 6 point favorites (only have to win by four) and get paid 2x2x2 8to1!!!!! Ahhh those days are looong gone! Odds are terrible today.

my corner store will cash me a ticket up to $999.99. Also, you can go to Woodbine to cash out big tickets. They'll do it there.

something must have happend because they took away the BBL head to head props away in like august. I won like 6 tickets this summer. I just took the half point dogs. Too many people must have been winning. They take away ANY advantage to the player, buts its ok to nickel and dime with them for fun.
