Do they make money from people playing poker at their sites?

Do the websites take a cut out of each hand or something similar

They take a percentage out of every pot played, called a rake, still cheaper than any live casino.

To put in perspective of how much they make, Pokerstars celebrated their 1 billionth hand dealt a while back. You have to figure each hand averages at least a couple of dollars in rake. That's how much they made last year!!!

Hhmmmmm....didnt know that. I wonder what was Pokerstars and Party's net income last year. It should be listed somewhere because they went public on the London stock exchange.

Would you say their net income last year would be at least a billion? I would think so...

For a site like party gaming (party poker and its skins) I dont think its that high, maybe 500 mill, or a little more, but its up there.
