'Monday Night Football' to Use McGraw Song

UPDATED 3 HOURS 24 MINUTES AGO

NEW YORK - "Monday Night Football" has a season-long partnership with Grammy-winning singer Tim McGraw for special musical halftime highlights throughout the 36th season of the ABC series.

NFL highlights from the weekend's games will be set to McGraw's single "I Like it, I Love It." Each Monday, the lyrics will be rewritten to fit the halftime highlights.

McGraw and his band are recording a new version of the song to be used for "Monday Night Football."

"We are flattered that a star of Tim McGraw's magnitude wants to dedicate one of his songs to halftime `Monday Night Football,'" producer Fred Gaudelli said in a statement Wednesday. "We are thrilled to be working with him."

I just found out a few weeks ago that he is Philly ex-pitcher Tug McGraw's son...I must've been living in a cave because all of my friends already knew that when I told them.

I definitely don't picture you being a country music fan...too young and too funky...

It was just a chic I was seeing at the time. She was into country and Chipped in with her sis and her BF for the 4 of us to go. So I said OK. I'll go, that sounds good.

It just didnt 'sound good' when we were seated and they were performing. But after both of their sets faith and tim did a rendition of fleetwood mac's 'you can go your own way' at the very end. that was the only thing I enjoyed and got into really.

Hieidi was pretty cute, she just had lame taste in music. Having said that, I havent heard from the stunt in 3 years.

Rob there was a time when I despised country music...IMO newer country is more like southern rock anyway...I'm kinda hooked on it now...I never would have believed it!

Me too J-man.

As far as Tim McGraw goes, I think his voice sounds like Goober. But I think he has the best choice in songs as far as meaning and melody goes.

Quantumleap...I don't mind his voice,..very country-ish...he does select great songs...doesn't write em.

He also does an excellent rendition of Elton John's Tiny Dancer.
