First post here, have been lurking on and off for almost a year.

I've been playing at Mansion for many months and I'm down a considerable amount there(6 figures). Today I tried to bet the Titans under 37 for $1977 and got a message I didn't have enough funds to do so(oops!). I had withdrawn a large portion of my balance there a few days ago when they changed their lines and exchange.

So I went back and bet my remaining balance on it instead(a little over $1100). Except I made a mistake and bet the Bengals under 37. I immediately emailed Mansion to ask them to cancel my bet, explaining exactly what happened. After waiting a few minutes I decided to make a deposit and wager on the Titans under just like I originally intended.

Unfortunately Mansion replied telling me they couldn't cancel my Bengals bet. I tried to reason with them, explaining that the line had not moved since my bet and the game hadn't started but they were categorical, no cancellations for any reason whatsoever.

Anyways after spending a long time with them on the phone, going from a CSR to the customer service manager, they couldn't do anything to resolve the matter. The folks in the wagering department wouldn't budge.

I post this hoping someone can help me out, the game starts at 7:30PM EST tonight. At the very least it will serve as a warning to current or prospective Mansion customers, don't expect them to act in good faith. I'm down 6 figures with them and they couldn't cancel this one bet.

I also accidentally bet the "wrong" ie the not intended side at Mansion and I also asked for a bet cancellation. I also received the same, nicely worded, firm refusal. I think your options are either to keep the bets you made or try to cancel them to the extent possible at either Mansion or elsewhere. I am pretty sure that, unlike some places, they do not frown upon you taking both sides of a game.

Good luck with your Bengals under bet. If it wins maybe they will be kind enough to change thier minds.

If you are indeed down six figures with Mansion, play where they appreciate your loyalty and will agree in advance to cancel a wager made in error.

1-post guy down 6 figures is funky , lacks some credibility with the 1 posts!

This is pretty standard. If you have a good relationship with someone on the inside, you may be able to get them to make an exception, but for the most part the rules state that the wager is final.

It doesn't really apply much here, but in general, books have to base their lines on action, and they can end up in a real mess if that action is going on and then off the books.

Given you losses with them, you probably have a good case for the rules to be bent, but that's purely a book by book decision-and some do not bend at all.

While Mansion is in my "dog house" for sure right now, this is the only way stuff like this can be handled really. You can't really expect them to bend on that rule or all hell would break loose.

Thanks for the comments.

DougJ, I wouldn't have posted about my losses if they weren't for real. If someone were to contact them on my behalf, they could easily verify that.

Clip Joint, I have had my mistakes cancelled at every book I have asked since I started betting sports a year ago. It's probably only happened a handful of times but it was never really a problem. Of course if a line moves against me or the game starts I would never even try to get it cancelled but if done immediately, I don't see why "all hell would break loose".

billpapa, they also suggested I bet the other side on their exchange. That is not a reasonable solution to me. I couldn't care less about having $1100 naked on a side, I routinely bet many times that with them. This is a question of principle. If they make a mistake they can cancel it but if I make one and immediately contact them to rectify it, I'm SOL? Personally I don't find that reasonable.

Caveat emptor.
Mansion is absolutely right, there is no way the bet should be void. If you want, you can lay off and pay the %. Pay more attention next time.

The bet was made on the sportsbook, not the exchange. I would completely understand their position if it was on the exchange since it would bring about numerous consequences potentially involving other players.

That was the reason for my comments...I thought it was on the exchange.

Ok, I assumed that it's on the exchange. If it's on the SB, it's just a question of good will if they will void it or not.

I for one believe you...I dont see a regular poster ever making the admission that he is down 6 figures.

IMHO its somewhat of a general rule that books wont cancel your wagers no matter what. I always resolve this by betting the other side (i do this often because i micro manage my money and if i am up a certain number of units on a day, i will simply wipe out all my other pending plays to ensure i end the day on a positive note) Now one book which i have sworn never to play at again used to regularly let me cancel plays (though this was mostly due to the fact that they were scared if they let the play stand i could probably win the bet any way, either that or they had too much money on the side i was on and were glad to reduce the risk by eliminating my plays..) I really liked that about that book but the other gimmicks really put me off and i bailed out on them.

I sure as hell can relate to giving a book your business and then having them treat you like some schmuck!!!! I really hate that too!!!!

Books like Pinnacle and Mansion have serious issues when it comes to customer service and timeliness at critical times. If these companies could only see that their business plans have flaws they would be a lot better off.
They should kiss your ass if you are down 100k.

If I was a CS manager & a player was down 6 figs, rules or no rules-I'd make damn sure that this was fixed-especially since the line is going nowhere & it's not 2 minutes until kickoff.

(Especially when you have run off a large percentage of your US sports players in the last week)

If you have lost 6 figures, what does another $100 matter:monsters-

Pimp,
He's only had 3 posts, hardly a regular. As usual, people can say what they like on here, 6 figures:drink:

BTS,

I feel for you. What upsets me is if they place a bad line and a player makes a bet they cancel the bet straght away, but when a player makes a mistake it's different story.

Both are human errors, but the player get's the bad end of the deal.

Thanks,
