I was at The Flea Market last Sunday, and this old lady had a few (2) Old Wooden BaseBall Bats. I noticed one was a LOUV. Slugger w/ Tony Gywnn Signature & the other was LOUV. Slugger w/ Dale Murphy Signature. They were both 34" bats, Old, but in Good Shape. I asked the lady how long she had them & she said that she was 92 years old & they were her Grandsons bats. Then I asked her how much she wanted for them and she said, "$2 Each, unless you think that is too much Honey."
I said, "No Maam, here's a $5...Keep The Change!"
I'm not saying they are valuable or worth anything at all.....but I'm Asking "My Forum Brothers."

Thanks--MR. NEWLYWED:suomi:

Get some Murphy's Oil Soap and add 1/4 cup to warm water, and wash those bats with a wash cloth and that mix, and then put some Pledge oil on them....shit you got something for my Men Den Bar!!! That is what I would do with them!! Nice Find

Thanks--MR. NEWLYWED:suomi:

when you say signatures are they autographed or signatures burned into the wood
if they are burned into the wood they are model bats of that player which means exact replica
after you determine that look at the handle (butt end) and see if there is any writing like a number in marker if there is it could be game used
also look on the end for a number thats stamped in the wood like maybe TG1
that is the number that louisville uses to reference whos bat it is

let me know i maybe can tell you more

either way you did good

MR. NEWLYWED:suomi:

from what it sounds like they are store model bats

this is the difference between a store model and a model
basically they are the same bat but maybe they mass produce the store model bat and are not really concerned about the weight so what ever it is, it is
but a player model bat that the player would order from louisville slugger would have a number stamped in the bottom handle

for example i have a pete rose model bat
its a louisville 125 and on the handle it has R195
the only player that can order this R195 is pete rose w/o his consent they cant make it even after he retired they still have to get an o.k from him
like if somebody wanted to order them to get autographed
it is the exact same size and weight that pete rose used

i would say depending on the condition they are worth 50-100 bucks apiece
depending on your location you might get more in atlanta or san diego

shit if you went out to buy a store model bat today brand new its at least 50 bucks
you did well you will not get rich from them but a great buy for 5 bucks

hope this helps
