I have a questions for all you golf fans. Other than hype what's the big deal of winning a major?!?!?!? What makes it so different from any other golf tournament? In tennis a grand slam is always held at the same venue, you must win seven matches as opposed to five or six, and you have to win three sets instead of two, making it much more difficult to win. Golf majors is still 72 holes, four rounds, and held at different courses except for one.....just like any other golf tournament?

One thing for sure is tradition. Over the years some of the most incredible golf ever witnessed has happened on golf's biggest stages. Jack Nicklaus becoming the oldest man to ever win the Master in 1986 comes to mind right away.

Well tradition may be important, but the MAIN reason that they are called majors is BECAUSE they have the absolute BEST FIELDS in any tournament. Best players in the game play them
