Dude read up on the rule...Its the horse collar tackle and it is a cheap and dirty trick used by roy williams to put about four premier Wrs out for the count!!!!
He pulled that shit on Tyron Calico and sent him to the injury list for the rest of the year...Then he pulled the same crap on TO (i think it was him)
The tackle is not dangerous so to speak but the league does not want to see their star players or the product they put out watered down by a long list of injuries...
I hate the tackle and i am glad its gone!!!
read up on the rule? lol, this is a game played by men , tough men, not girls, most collar tackles just happen, you make it sound like the player goes around deciding 'hey I think i will grab so ad so's collar to hurt him...its very unlikely a player gets hurt on this tackle...in fact how many collar tackles have we seen the past 30 yrs where a player has suffered a serious injury?
If anything take away the fake turf if you want to prevent that injury...you are way off base.

however it has a very high rate of injuries, documented too...And it is not hard to grab some ones collar when they are running at high speed..matter of fact the collar is the easiest bit of clothing to grab a hold of.
If you think its a very hard thing to do, well then it will be easier for the corners to try other forms of tackle...I dont think they will miss this much...
Ps...The point here that matters to me (and the NFL) is the high rate of season ending/interupting injuries...

Lastly, this is a tackle submitted for review by coaches and not a decision independently arrived at by the league!!!
If the coaches dont like it and all agreed to outlaw it, i would think they know the players better than you or I and are thus able to make better rulings on this one!
