playing 50 cent no-limit at Bodog. I have Ac Ks.flop comes Ad, Kd, 5d. I check and call a small bet. There are three of us left. 2d on the turn, 9d on the river. Guy bets $10.00, second guy calls, I fold. Neither has a diamond. They each had a pair only. I comment that it was a ballsy bet to make without a diamond and the guy fires back " it didnt matter, the Ace of diamonds was on the board. We all had an ace high flush. Thanks for not taking your share of the pot".

I laughed so hard I almost cried. He was dead serious.

Stories like this only encourage me to play poker online. Eventually these retards will have their money taken from them by staying in too long with poor hands. In the end the odds are against them.

Sherman, what he was thinking.......... nevermind. Three people left, he bets $10.00. Guess he knew nobody even had the 3 of diamonds.

but no one had the QD....

Hi Sherman:howdy: That was known after the fact. I would've thought one of the 2 callers, if not both, held a D. But not being in the gm I'm not sure if I would have folded.

I probably should have broken down every step of the hand to make it easier to follow. After the 5th diamond was revealed on the river, this guy was first to act. He bet (large at a 50cent table) thinking Ad,Kd,9d,5d,2d was the best possible hand because it was an ace high flush. He didnt realize that if anyone had a diamond, any diamond at all, they would have beat him.

This story is not as much fun when it has to be explained:sad3:

Because the winning poker hand is the 5 best cards. Womever held the highest diamond in their hand would win the pot (as long as that diamond is higher than the lowest diamond on the board. If the board is Ad Kd 10d 8d 6d and one player has 9d and the other has 7d, the player with 9d wins. A K 10 9 8 beats A K 10 8 7

A similar situation happened to me the other day. The board showed A K Q J 10 with no more than 2 of any suit (so there could be no flush). The board was the absolute nuts. I check so that the pot doent get bigger adding to the rake. Next guy goes all in like an idiot, i was about to b1tch him out and the 3rd player in the hand FOLDS his hand. I love internet poker

I guess what made it so funny to me, was that this guy was calling me out as an idiot. He thought the board could not be beat like if it was A,A,A,A,K or something similar. There are some big fish in that Bodog water. Just wish I could trust the software. I usually play the sit-and-go's. Don't seem to have as many "bad beats" there.

I have had that happen a few times also. I used to bitch people out for doing that. Now I think about doing it just in case.

nothing should shock people when you are playing low limits.

as for the bet of 10, there is nothing wrong with it, if he was bluffing that he had the nuts. the moron was the guy that simply called without having a diamond. Folding the AK in this spot was a good move, whether or not you would have won or lost. Sometimes folding a winning hand is the correct move.
