do you think you could stick to the basic strategy? i mean, its easy to hit 16 when you have $15 out there but...for $25,000? i think if i had a 16 and the dealer was showing a 7, it would be very hard for me to hit it for $25,000. i mean, you have a what 75% chance of busting? very tough.

What about if you get a 16 against a dealer 10 and the casino allows surrender is it even an option or do you have to hit or stand.

Drunkguy do you pay taxes on all your many winnings?

I don;t play casinos

never had to worry about the paperwork being filed

If you are paid out more than the limit (I think 10k) that triggers automatic paperwork before the casino can pay you

No way I could stick to basic strategy. If I got 8-8 against a 10 I would not split the pair! In fact I would stay with that hand since 16 against 10 is very marginal regarding hit/stay.

You were on my ass about taking the $2500 and you ask a question like this? If I had chose the 5K bet, you bet your ass I would stick to strat......remember math is alway right.

Standing on a 16 vs. dealer 10 is far better than vs a dealer 7. HUGE "ploppy" mistake.

Again, I had my reasons for taking the $2500 up front, reasons that I care not to explain.

If you choose the $5k blackjack hand over the $2.5k cash you would need to bring at least $10k of your own money to cover a split/double down situation or else you lose a lot of EV, assuming they allow that of course.

In the borderline cases like 4-4 vs. 6, 2-2 vs. 2, or A7 vs. 3 I'd definitely be conservative and lose some EV in favor of a lower variance, but the hit/stand decisions would be exact basic strategy since there is no variance issue there. Finding out my fate 3 seconds later has no effect on me and is not worth a penny of EV.

As for the decision to take the money vs. playing the hand, the key would be the opportunity cost of the time involved in the trip imo. But $2700 EV in cash plus a free trip is well worth a few days for me that's for sure. I'd take the blackjack hand in a flash.

Get paid in chips.

Cash out under 10,000.
(Say 9000 to not arouse suspicion)

Wait 24 hours and cash another 9000.

Just don't go over 10000 in a 24 hour period, cash in or cash out.

You could also buy in for 10k plus in cash to trigger it the other way to help cover you.

I wouldn't vary the basic strategy. The 16 vs. 10 is arguable. That's about my only possible exception, besides not doubling anything ( maybe for less on 11 vs. 6) I'm thinking this is a shoe game, as I heard GN runs the 6:5 single deck now.

If it's single deck and my 16 was like a 4,3,5,4, I'd stand as I hold 4 of the cards I want to draw. I might even stand that against a shoe ( need to research first), number of decks is a factor, also.

I'd have a deal made in advance for split possibilities. I'd want a free future trip if I agreed to take my shot at the Bash !

Good luck, gijoe !
