Poker is boring

There seem to be more and more poker threads at the rx lately. Does anyone actually find poker fun? I know, I know- 98% of rx poker players are huge winners and soon-to-be poker millionares, but can anyone honestly say that playing the same basic card game, over and over and over and over......is not incredibly boring?

i find online poker boring as well. i am about even and decided to give it up because i personally think its rigged.

the live game however is a lot of fun...and more profitable. especially if its with friends and there is no rake.

Id say, watching grapes turn to raisins is compareable. Its the boringest thing if done "right" for any length of time. I hate poker.

The one thing poker is not, is boring. Maybe if you are playing low stakes it can be boring. But when you have hundreds riding on a bluff i can tell you that boredom is the last thing on your mind. For people with zero patience it can be boring waiting for a good hand, that is why i play 6 person tables. Loosens up the game a bit and makes you play a few more hands that you normally wouldnt if you were playing a full ring.

personally, the one thing that bores me is blackjack. Its like being a robot at the table. You basically have to hit certain hands and stick with others. then you just wait and see what the dealer does. Its like betting on the flip of a coin.

the only gambling i do these days are poker and sports betting.

Blackjack is anything but robotic at high levels. If you count and vary strategy and bets to the count, there is a lot to keep track of. You're also almost playing poker with the pit bosses at same time. Very intense stuff !

7-stud isn't as bad a waiting game,pretty close, though. I'm more into Blackjack anyway. I just can't do craps where I logically know every roll has a negative expectation.
