6 players .

you have ace and 8 of diamonds .

you raise the blind 500

i person comes over the top and goes all in for 1800. ( pocket 10's )

you call putting your tourney life at stake.

what are the odds of hitting the flush pre flop ?

12 cards have been dealt . you have 11 out of 40 cards.

i understand its about 25 % to hit 1 diamond , but what about 3 with 5 cards yet to be shown ? i guess it would be about 25 % as each card gets turned.

thanks.

Ditto....

thats an EASY fold situation for YOU IMO

UNLESS you are shortstack....and its late in the tourney you have to put that guy on at least a PAIR of 10's or better

EVEN if you put him on a Aq Ak your basicly fucked with your hand...unless you get 100% lucky of course

If one has two suited cards, your chance of making a flush by the river is 6.4%.......or roughly 1 in 15.

i had the 10's ... he called with ace/8 . he had to figure his ace / low kicker wasnt going to be any good, so he had to be playing the flush draw .

he hit an ace on the turn .

the formula is

(3 C 11 * 2 C 39 + 4 C 11 * 1 C 39 + 5 C 11 * 0 C 39) divided by 5 C 50

that comes out to be:

(165*741 + 330*39 + 462)/211867

= 135597/2118670 = 6.4%

Do you have a card for this, Fishhead?

No, just know those odds off the top of my head, along with a few others that I deem to be half-*ss important in hold'em.
