Manager Mike Hargrove said 19-year-old RHP Felix Hernandez will remain in the rotation for the rest of the season and make nine more starts. Hernandez pitched eight shutout innings and evened his record at 1-1 in Seattle's 1-0 victory Tuesday night. The Mariners are closely monitoring the number of innings Hernandez pitches this season because of his age. He started this season at Triple-A Tacoma, where he pitched 88 innings, before being called up last week. In two starts with Seattle, he has pitched 13 innings, so he's at 101 innings now. The Mariners would like to keep his total at 190 or fewer this season. He missed a month with bursitis in his throwing shoulder.
