Some picks I like for Saturday

The damn Internet connection in my room at the Bash didn't work this morning so I missed out on the afternoon games. Here is what I have for the night games.

Penny/Moehler
I was listening on the radio to these 2 teams play last night on my drive up to Vegas. Neither team has been hitting well. After the game the announcer brought up the fact about the warm humid air in Florida this time of year causes games to go under. Penny has been pitching well.

Was +173 over NYM
Livan/Pedro
This is a good price for Livan and the Mets have lost the last 4 straight that Pedro has pitched.

Prop bet:

I seldom do prop bets but I feel Livan can hang with Pedro here in number of strikeouts.

TB -120 over Tex
Benoit/Kazmir
Texas has lost 9 out of their last 10 while TB has won 6 out of their last 7. Kazmir for TB may be 9-15 but they have won 5 out of his last 6 starts.

Min +108 over Sea
Hernandez/Lohse
Min has had a chance to see Hernandez already this year. While he is pitching rather well I believe Min is playing much better.

Oak -1.5 -159 over KC
Wood/Zito
Bounce-back game for Zito.

Well I was walking through the sportsbook at the Winn (nice big screens for horse racing) and happened to catch the Mets/Nats game. It looked like it was 0-0 (I need new glasses) but when I looked again it was 8-0 and Livan had been pulled. Before I left the motel room I noticed Pedro had 4 SO's in the 1st 2 innings so I chalked the bet on the SO's as a loss. I get back to the room and see that Pedro struck out 4 and Livan 1. Winning bet on the prop and it's 8-6 NYM. The Nats are coming back!

The LAD/Fla game went over in the 3rd inning.

TB wins over Tex so it's now 2-1 including the prop.
