My PSU hopes are starting to dwindle...Since I returned from Vegas, I have found out the following:
Mark Rubin (leading returning WR) had season ending surgery today from an injury over weekend
Lavon Chisley (1 of top 3 rotating DE) did not qualify academically and his career at PSU is done since he already redshirted
Dan Connor (Starting LB) likes to make prank calls to a level of harassment so he will be out most likely 2 games
PSU should still win 7 games but sheesh! I want to go back to Vegas

Rubin is a big deal but all of our WR's as a whole have been awful so losing him doesn't bother me as much as you would think it would. 
Connor's an idiot. Kanuch and McCready are idiots as well. That bothers me more than anything else. This is an unfortunate situation but since we play beatable non-conference teams sitting him out early isn't a big deal. As long as Joe puts him in by Big 10 time we'll be OK. But he better learn his lesson.
I think Austin Scott finally has his head on straight which would be SO NICE to have him and Tony in the backfield.
Our biggest problems to me now are at fullback because Jefferson did a nice job when he was in there and now he's gone so it's youth taking over and at WR because Williams and King are going to try to shoulder the load (even though they're both incoming freshmen). The defense will be stout this year...they SHOULD be the best in the Big 10 unless they get bit by the injury bug (knock on wood it doesn't happen).
Tight End is up in the air as well because Smolko could be a GREAT TE or he could be his usual 50/50 chance of catching a pass self.
This team is really young but they have a lot of skill this year (a lot more than in the past few years). They can contend this year (winning it would be amazing but it's possible) but I think NEXT YEAR is going to be an awesome year for us.
We'll see JMan...it's one game at a time.
