I'm taking the Braves +145 and the game Over 8

Prior has not been good against Atl and neither have the Cubs.

Sosa is a perfect 6-0 on the road.

6 out of the last 7 Prior starts there have been 8 or more runs scored
6 of the last 7 starts Prior has given up 3 or more runs, averaging 6-7 innings

Sosa has started 8 games on the road and is 6-0 this year, he is a reliever starter.

Atlanta has won 5-6 meetings this year.

The Cubs have not won back to back games vs Atlanta in any of the past three years.

The HP umpire is Gorman, one of the biggest HOMER umpires in MLB.

Home teams are 19-6 (+12.9 units) with Gorman behind the plate, so you'll probably find yourself cussing out the umps today if you're on Atlanta. I am not saying that Atlanta can't win, just keep in mind that the calls won't go your way.

Also, Gorman issues 5 walks (below average) and has 13 K's (above average) per game. Couple that with the fact that the wind will be blowing in, and I don't see how this game goes over. Batters will be chasing pitches off the plate all day.

PS: Timmons is behind the plate in Arizona tonight and home teams are 18-6 (+11.9 units) when he is behind the plate.

Cubs are a good matchup for Sosa...he has good stuff but when he gets into trouble it's because of walking a lot of batters. Luckily for him, the Cubs are very impatient at the plate and swing at a lot of first pitches. However, if he does have a high pitch count and goes out after four or five innings, the Braves were forced to go into their pen early and could be in trouble if they have to do the same thing again today. I am not playing this game as I am a Cubs fan and I try to stay off their games whenever possible, especially if they are a heavy favorite like today. Just wanted to add my two cents.

I was the one who said this ump was a homer - and he is.

Edub said that the Cubs were impatient, and it is showing.

Ironically we got exactly what I was hoping , Prior would give up 3 in 6-7 innings...at this point I will just hope for a split though.

You can't call it a spilt if you took a dog at +145, Jman. Good call.

Cool beans!!!!!!!!!!!

I tailed you on the ChiSox but didn't have the balls to play Anaheim, so I just took the under

I have SD so we could actually be rooting for each other every half inning:)

YOU got it, not me - not yet, anyways. I almost have it, but even the pathetic Nats offense scored 8 runs on the Mets last week.

I just need the Giants to win a small, small play for me, but that is not looking too good.

You're on a roll now, JMAN:) Keep it up.
