Anybody else irritated by the slowness of this forum?

Ever since those HUGE banners have been on top of the regular ones, this forum takes longer to load. I have dsl and cable modem and all the sites are very quick.

The General Dis forum and the rubber room have the extra banners and are slower.

Is there a way to speed that up?

No Chance, we are working on a new version of the large banners at the top to help rectify this problem.


FWIW - the site is a fast as usual for me.

nochance, are you on IE or Firefox?? I'm on firefox, and it seems like the site is loading quicker than normal to me

I'm having the same problem. It is slow as hell loading.

No problems here. Maybe if you go to microsoft tools and click internet options and click delete files your computer rx will load faster.

It is slower for me I have noticed it since the RX got the big banners and im on IE....but it has been reported...should improve at some point

For the past year, it took my work computer 3-5 minutes to load every page I would bring up on the RX. Then we had a computer tech in last week, he did something to our server (I don't know what), and now the pages are pulled up instantly. Dante, I think the answer lies in your computer settings, possibly the settings having to do with Internet Security. I don't know exactly which tool you use, but when our computer tech comes in tomorrow, I'll ask him and let you know.

Do you mean tech. slow or # of posts slow? Tech. wise its fast for me and I expect the posting to pick-up once the foots start!

please let us know any tech info is good info


i have the rx up on 2 browser right now
ie,and mozilla firefox

on ie, it takes 7 -10seconds to load a page
mozilla it takes 3 seconds

I have dial up and it is slower because of the annoying flash ad banner that is on top of the forum.

It's definately slower today, and I have a T1 line. Is it that broken Heritage Sports banner on top?

I think we are back to normal speed now. Tech support has been working on the Banners. Also there is no longer an off center look to Offshore for me now.

Slowness of Forum

I.ve tried deleting old files, but it takes forever to access the forum and i have Hi Speed DSL> . Is there something else i can do to speed it up. I am coming in on ie.?
