Tough loss on Wednesday in Detroit.Yesterday I missed all the early games and liked nothing really too much on the night card. Its always good when Bucs fave is mine as well.

St Louis -125

This season the Cards are 17-7 when a favorite of -125 to -150.The Cards are also 12-6 in thier L18 road games and 4-0 in Suppans last 4 road starts. Not to mention in the L7 matchups vs the Expos the Cards are 5-2.They are facing Loaiza who is without a doubt a solid starter especially at home but heres the thing....he's ranked 3rd in the NL in lowest run support @ 3.3 rpg.His record doesnt really reflect how good he's been: At home he's been great with a 2.5 era but has struggled just a little in his L3 (2-1 3.93 era 1.53 whip).Hes facing Suppan who's always been a better road pitcher since he arrived in St Louis.Suppan has not been as effective on the road this year as last but he's been better than decent and has pitched very well as of late: 2-1 1.35 era 1.10 whip- letting up 1HR in 20.0 ip.The Nats offense has been terrible at home hitting just .244 and avg. 3.7 rpg in RFK in sharp contrast to the Cards who are hitting .273 and avg 4.9 rpg on the road. Both bullpens rank among the leaders but on the road the Cards BP steps up seemingly (2.76 era /90% sv rate).Im inclined to give the edge in starters to the Expos but Washington just plain struggles to score most of time and especially when Loaiza pitches.Cards can knock you out in one inning.
