Mark Mulder vs. Matt White. Matthew is 6' 1" & only 180 LB, 28 years old & making his debut as a major league starter today. His previous MLB experience was relief work for BoSox in 2003. He pitched 4.2 innings, allowed 11 earned runs on 10 hits, 3 BBs & a loss, 27 ERA. There was also 2 innings served with Mariners, allowing 3 earned runs on 3 hits, 2 HRs, 2 BBs, 13.5 ERA. IMPRESSIVE!
Today little Matthew faces the St. Louis Cardinals, the team with the best record in MLB, starting Mark Mulder, & Cards have won 9 of his last 10 starts. Mulder has allowed 1 earned run in his last 2 starts, 17 innings of play. He's given up 2 runs or fewer in each of his last 9 outings.
Facing these crushing facts, Matthew ties up the laces & goes on the mound to lead a team that has absolutely no offense. The pressure is on for Matt to keep those Cards bats at bay, 'cause his squad is not putting up the big runs today. But Matthew feels no pressure, because nobody expects him to win. Since he has never won a game in MLB history, nobody should!
I can't understand why the line is -165, seems like it should be larger??? With certainty that most people will be on the cards today, what would make this a trap game upset? Matty tossing a pearl!
No precedent for that

I'm sittin back, bettin large, :drink: , & hoping for the best!

Good luck! :103631605

I'm with ya on this one. I have the Cards -1 at -137. I really can't see any advantages for Nat's in this one. Not real surprised that they won last night but I don't see them taking the first 2 in this series. This is one of the best bets on the board today as far as I am concerned.

Don't have the exact stats but Mulders record in day games is terrible. Also the lineup the Cards keep throwing out there is not exactly murderers row. The Nats definitely need the game more and the Cards historically don't do well against pitchers they have not seen before. Be careful.

Cards have won 9 of last 10 Mulder starts, that is enough for me today, coupled with Was starter White.

p.s. I see most of the Cards games and can't figure them out. When I bet them to win they lose...when I bet them to lose they win.:sad3:

Bilmirg makes good pts on Mulder day games & the Cards bats. I would worry about the mulder trend if he was facing a strong offensive team. In the business of betting the trend is your friend & Cards & Mulder are trending brutally on the winning side. It would be a very serious upset of trends if a 28 year old with 7 innings of major league experience pitches a victory in this spot. The Cards have gotton some bats back recently. Matt White is the only question. Nobody on Earth knows what will show up. All i know is these are the plays that you cap & gotta win.
