i think even chris carpenter would admit clemens should get it .

what has happened this year with him on the hill has been mind boggling..

the guy could throw a no hitter and still wonder if he's gonna come away with a win..

A month ago I thought Carpenter deserved it but now I agree with you and many others. RC can't control the amount of runs his team scores.

if he had these same numbers while pitching for either new york or boston this year , he could possibly be 25-1 or 26-1 ..

maybe even 27-0

Roger hasn't done much to help himself in all those games...only went 6 innings the other day. Has ONE complete game on the season.

the guys has averaged just under 7 innings per start this year.

i'd say he has done all he could to help himself..

the only other thing he should have done to help himself is hit a 3 run homer every game... but that would take 2 of those bums getting on base in front of him..

I disagree but only slightly. Carpenter is 19-4 ! He has been brilliant also. Much like awarding the MVP to a player from a team with a good record over a player from a team that is doing poorly ! A Rod was certainly the best player in the American leaugue but He never received the MVP when He played for Texas. It's Carpenter's and the Card's year ! IMHO:103631605

Clemens has the disadvantage of not being able to face the Houston lineup.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

This is a tough one for me...Like last year when Randy Johnson had great #'s while playing for a terrible AZ team, he did not get the MVP.. If Roger keeps his ERA at the same level or takes it lower then he should get it..road ERA

No disrespect to Clemens who has been outstanding but Carpenter has been just as good though era about a run + higher. Carpenter has more complete games, shutouts, wins, innings, most quality starts (25), etc. Regardless of who wins it (Carp is my choice), Carpenter should be Gamblers Pitching MVP choice for amount of money you would of made betting on him this year!
