With no clear cut mvp in AL, is Giambi making a push for AL MVP?

I for one think it would be very ironic if Jason Giambi, after admitting steroids use, starting off slowly, and nearly be sent to minors, turns it on to win his 2nd MVP and 1st in Yanks uniform. After being nearly booed out of NY, this would be justice for Giambi. I for one am rooting for him to do it as everyone deserves a 2nd chance.

Kinda have to agree with Tang. He doesn't play D plus his RBI total's are really low playing for a team like the Yankees. Besides Gary Sheffield would end up killing someone if Giambi got it since Shef has better numbers.

Two games and we're talking about MVP?

(If I could say "MVP" the way Allen Iverson said "practice", that is what it would sound like)

Kojak is normally a sharp guy. I think he did a couple too many lines off those strippers' tits in Vegas.

Let me clarify my point everyone. At this point in time Giambi would obviously not be the MVP. But what I will say that for the past 2 months there has been no one hotter in the AL. Is he back on steroids again? I doubt it but it will always haunt Giambi. The fact I am making is he has been clutch of late to go along with his 2 month hot stretch and if he would keep it up to the point that the Yanks get into the playoffs as wild card or overtake Boston for division, he would have been a major cog of that. Rivera until he retires will always be the team mvp, but if you look at viable candidates right now from winning teams, you would be looking at Guerrero for Angels (out to long injured), Red Sox Ortiz and Ramirez (both would take votes away from each other and Ramirez imo is more viable than Ortiz has hurt his chances the week before trade deadline), White Sox really have no one unless you consider Konerko but avg not high enough, A's have no one, which brings us to teams not in race which would bring in Tejada but doubtful. Off of his own team ARod maybe Sheffield would be considered. The point I am making is that the final month seems to always determine MVP in AL and Giambi has positioned himself to be considered.

tell you what, hes my MVP after mashing two homeruns tonight and cashing my over :toast:

No way he wins the award though, unless he stays this hot the whole way.. wayyy too slow a start, and such a liability at 1st.

Obviously nobody is seeing this so I will put it to rest. I appreciate the kind words from people such as Greenhead on this topic who I would challenge to any sort of knowledge or capping comp any time. Anyway, when Giambi finishes in top 10 or higher in mvp voting, I will pull this thread up.
