Ok this is all hypothetical so fellas dont start lecturing me about the bigger picture of lives lost and property destroyed..

I was watching the news and they mentioned that this one reporter had witnessed some people looting a Mcdonalds. (Which is kinda silly because one has to figure that whoever is stealing food really needs it and cant afford to wait around for rescue)

But what if you wanted to steal more than food?? All those banks, homes and casinos all left unprotected...If you had a crew of well trained individuals, with the right type of equipment and a good plan, one could potentially hit all those small branches in those upper class neighborhoods that are completed flooded out and make off with some serious profits.. All you would have to do is sit around all year long awaiting hurrican season or various weather conditions like total blizzards that completely cripple local law enforcement. Especially in those small town bank branches...They hold millions in their personal safety deposit boxes...You would be suprised how many people store valuable stuff in their local banks (outside of money in the actual bank vaults)

I know this is kind of perverse, but it did happen on a large scale during the chaos in the Iraqi war. There were some crews out there specifically looking to steal valuable stuff or even find Saddams hidden billions...(I hope some remember of some soldiers arrested for trying to steal money in the hundreds of millions that they stumbled on in some house)

Why couldnt this be done? WHy hasnt this been tried?

Ps..for the FBI i am not advocating for people to commit crimes, i am just talking about a hypothetical situation that could even make a good plot for a movie!!!

I wonder what precautions these banks take when a evacuation is ordered? I wonder if they get rid of most of the reserve, but then again what do they do for the people who are trying to get cash to evacuate with. Interesting question.

No they cant send out the money!!! They would need bunches of trucks to do this.. not to mention all these trucks would be stuck on the same roads that every one fleeing would be stuck on....It is actually more prudent to leave the money in the bank vaults...Those things can survive direct nuclear blasts...

The only danger they would have is from actual "hurricane pirates" but otherwise they all leave the money where it is...

BTw the bank employees also flee the storms and you cant force them to stay to help you evacuate money which isnt even theirs!
