Expect big things from him, even in the best conference in the nation this year! Iowa won't even stop Maroney from putting up big numbers!

PROTECTING HIS WALLET: Minnesota running back Laurence Maroney insists he is focusing solely on this season and not on his NFL future, but the junior has taken steps to protect himself financially in case of injury.

Maroney secured a $3 million insurance policy in case he suffers a career-ending injury this fall. The all-Big Ten selection from St. Louis is eligible for the NFL draft after this season and is considered as a potential first-round pick. He expressed concern about how the insurance policy will be perceived, stressing that he has not made any decision on his future.

"I'm an all-around team player, and I always put the team first," he said. "But at some point, I think you have to look out for yourself. But all I'm focusing on right now is this season."

During his first two seasons with the Gophers, Maroney has rushed for 2,469 yards, 22 touchdowns and averaged 6.5 yards per carry.

Only a sleeper to novice minds. He will be a frontrunner. I have 300 to get 12000 on him to bring the hardware home.

Omar Jacobs: 11-for-12 108 yards and 2 TDs in first quarter AT WISCONSIN

Take notes Jarbo...there will be a lot of people trying to get on this bandwagon.

too bad he won't get Heisman respect cause he plays in the MAC, clipper. He'll be the top QB in the 2007 Draft, imo.

He'll get plenty of looks and respect when they crack the Top 25. He is going to start generating a buzz media wise because he might be the 1st QB taken in the draft.

If they can win AT WISCONSIN with another of his 400+ yard games, he will be on the map right away. They open the season with 3 road games (at Boise State in 2 weeks) so it will be a tough start to the season. But if they find a way to pull that upset against Boise on the 21st, he has a great shot.

Last season:
309-for-462
4002 yards
41 TDs
4 Ints

Like GT quite alot.

Hopefully not giving GT to much respect, but I expect them to have a TOP 20 year this year.

Auburn still awfully deep, don't believe Ball and co. can generate anything unless they run the ball very well (doubtful, imo)

Believe Cox will be efficient, make good decisions, has a couple good receivers to pass to. It's kinda "assumed" they won't run the ball well without Cadillac and Brown, but Smith and Irons are solid. Many believe Aub won't move the ball, I think they will.

Gailey has never impressed me as a head coach, especially compared to Tubberville.

Advantages on both sides of the ball + advantage on the sidesline= 17-21 point victory imo.
