He didn't participate in any of Kansas City's preseason games and is expected to undergo surgery to repair the knee problem.

In four seasons with the Eagles, Mitchell played in 63 games and recorded 90 receptions for 1,263 yards with five touchdowns.

The highlight of Mitchell's Eagles career came during the 2004 NFC Divisional Playoff game against Green Bay as his catch on a 4th-and-26 play kept the season alive.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs agreed to terms on a two-year contract with offensive tackle Thomas Barnett and waived guard Mike Johnson.

:lolBIG: You know we could really use him back though with Pinky out all year. Then again I don't know if we would want to put up with Freddie the Legend for another year. The ego at WR is already pretty full (still luv ya TO). :suomi:

You just answered my question. I was going to ask: wasn't Mitchell the guy with the T.O. mouth, but the B.S. ability?

Wish I had a link to that comical pre-Super Bowl interview he did.

I didn't think the guy was even that great in college, never struck me as a pro receiver at all. While they occasionally get a good pro out there, most UCLA offensive players seem to fizzle in the NFL of late. Could just be the system. Then again the UCLA offense has been weak in recent years so maybe its finally being exposed.

Bastard Eagles are gonna sign McCants today...he's gonna be a STEAL. I'm bitter. We never shoulda gotten rid of him, Gibbs hates him cuz he won't play special teams and tends to dog it during practice, but the guy is money once he steps on the field. And of all the damned teams to sign him, it has to be the Eagles...terrible.

I never cared for him much, but I will always cherish when Fredex delivered on 4th and 26th late in the game against Green Bay in the playoffs 2 seasons ago.
