Screw it I will ride in my second car, small economy car....the fuel costs won't effect me at the tank that much, hopefully we can get back to $2.00 a gallon someday...I cannot imagine how some of the paycheck to paycheck people can deal with this BS, 20 gallons of gas costing 70 bucks, absolutely absurd, 20 dollars not too long ago.

This is going to cripple the economy.

i am lucky enough that i dont have to drive to work everyday. i cant imagine the impact on people who drive an hour each way just to get to work and back.

a tank of gas will probably last me 3 weeks , maybe 4 , but i'm still thinking about getting a little scooter for around the town runs..

I take the train to work, so gas prices don't affect me directly - but it still sucks to see $3.34 per gallon at the pump

the only good thing is that my wife was looking at minivans, and now she has dropped the idea.

Funny I don't see anyone buying SUV's anymore, the car lots are full of them around here....I couldn't imagine getting like 15 MPG and having to drive far to work each day...

And thats why they play the game.

No doubt best combination of reliability, cost, mileage = Honda Civic. You can even get a hybrid. I got one for the wife, its not an accelerating machine by any means, but the gas mileage is great. Going from Vegas to San Diego and back, about 750 miles including tooling around SD, takes about a tank and a half. Tank of gas will run about $35-40 right now at current prices.

A friend of mine has a Navigator and took hers down to SD a few weeks ago, when gas was about $2.85/gallon for premium. She said her gas cost was at least $150.

Have an old Ford Escort that I commute back and forth to work in (about 55 miles round trip). I get 30 miles to the gallon. Even at this rate, I am getting about 10 miles per dollar.

Even at just 20 more dollars a week for gas, that will cost us each a grand a yr, when you think of it like that, that is very significant.
