Gas stations in my Denver suburb have gas....ANY GAS!!!!

Is it this bad everywhere? After that debacle, I had no problem coughing up $3.09 a gal.

That's a pretty scary post. I don't know what I'd do without my car/gas. Keep us updated on the gas situation there, please.

There seems to be plenty of gas around here (Mass) but regular is going for more than $3.50 a gallon at every station I passed today.

Word has it the "majors" are hoarding the gas and not selling it to independents. In other words if your choice of gas is "Al's Neighborhood Gas" you could be in trouble depending on where you live. If you like Shell or whatever your big brands are in your part of the world then you aren't likely to see gas run out outside of the Southeast or areas up the Mississippi. Around here the prices have gone up 30 cents at some places, about 20 cents at others. Not anything that unexpected though with the holiday weekend. I wouldn't be surprised to see prices coming down within a week, but maybe not to the levels they were before this week started. Like many people have a family gathering to get to, hard for me to say sorry can't make it because I have to pay an extra $5 to get down there.

Ironically, it was all the national high volume\good access stations that were out. The small place that I did find gas at was a much smaller operation.

(I get the impression that this is just a very localized issue-otherwise the Denver media would be freaking out)
