I was going to say the same thing

The same genius who batted the pitcher 8th is the most overrated manager in history.

i am at a loss for words....what in the Mother F'in' H E double L was he thinking...trying to be the big shot genious....WOW.....NEVERRRRRRR EVER walk a guy to push the winning run into scoring position. I have logged in god knows how many hours this year watching baseball and that was by far the worst move that i have seen a manager make this year. Who the HELL does Tony think he is MANNY RAMIREZ!!!!

DAMN.....better luck tomorrow,

He does this shit all the time. Why walk a left handed batter, put the winning run on 2nd.and bring in a lefty to pitch to a lefty. What's the fukin point?

He gets a pass on this shit when he wins the division but will pull some stupid shit in the playoffs and blow it.:monsters-

i will say i saw something like this happen once before and it worked

in the 80s, the cards were at the dodgers and UP 3-0 headed to B9. dodgers had runners on 2nd and 3rd for Pedro Guerrero who was WHITE HOT at the time. on deck was Mike Marshall

Herzog INTENTIONALLY walked Pedro to get to Marshall even though that put the tying run on base and winning run at the plate and it worked as Marshall harmlessly flew out

also saw this in the 1992 CWS Title Game between My Titans and Pepperidge Fram. we were losing 3-1 in B8 and had runners on 2 and 3 w/1 out. Phil Nevin was up and he was hitting well over .500 for the series. Andy Lopez intentionally walked Nevin - something EVERYONE by Augie Garrido knew he would do (because the batter before Nevin, Augie had the batter bunt over the runners from 1st and 2nd never knowing what EVERYONE knew - Lopez would intentionally walk Nevin) to get to the next batter Jason Moeller who JUST got under one and flew out to deep RCF. the SF made it 3-2 but Pepperidge Farm was never threatened again and won 3-2

so i have seen it work before a few times

keep in mind LaRussa is playing with "House Money" now

they have the division and #1 NL seed locked up so they can try stuff like this and if it fails - so what
