Are most players able to play both ways close to equally as well ? Different game certainly. Internet players have won big events ( Fossilman, for one). Do skills transfer easily, or do guys like say Hellmuth and Mike the mouth need a physical presence and therefore aren't well suited to net play ?

Raymer was/is a solid live game player. If not for a bad beat in this year's tourney, he might be legendary.

Hellmuth has always sucked at cash games, but is a feared tournament player.

Matusow is a solid crossover player.

A lot of the big names you don't see on the internet because they just don't have the bankroll for it.

Playing live gives you an opportunity to read your opponents much more so than on the internet.

I'd expect old school pros to be weaker at net play, a younger pro like D Neagranu, could be expected to do well at any game, the 40-50 crowd may be a different sort !

exactly.I actually do better at LIVE poker ..you have to be able to get reads on people at live play...and NOT show much emotion...

if you watch peoples tendencies and faces when your not in a hand you will see when they have good cards or not..

It is much easier for lifetime internet players to cross over to live poker than it is for lifetime live players to cross over to internet.
