It is well known that most cfb teams make their biggest improvements from Week 1 to Week 2. Making judgements off of 1st game is often a mistake that can cost you for a couple of weeks in the pocketbook. Teams that I think will make better shows in Game 2 are as follows:

Michigan- Really feel they were caught looking ahead to Irish

Nebraska- Fans are upset with Callahan so expect big performance vs overrated and bad Wake Forest team

South Carolina-Feel the old ball coach will have something special for his old whooping boys at Georgia

Maryland-They have owned Clemson and feel Navy may be underrated and may prove to be a better win as season goes along.

Which teams do you look to make biggest improvements?

South Carolina did not impress in any way, shape, or form.

Georgia should have few problems with them.

Sorry, personally don't believe SC matches up well with Georgia.

Everybody wants to talk about what a great job Shockley did vs Boise St, and he did, but it was the Bulldog defense that was incredibly impressive to me.

They hit hard, showed great speed, and were in the right place at the right time all day vs. a very talented offensive team in Boise State.

Granted, 17 points is alot of points, but I cannot see the Gamecocks staying within 10 points of Georgia in this affair and that would mean a sweat spreadwise at the very best.

I can see Georgia running roughshed on this team.

But, everybody has an opinion, thats why they call it gambling.

I believe the boys in Oklahoma will get an ass-whoopin' from their coach. Look for them to come out motivated this week.

I'm afraid that Nebraska is going to be just as inept as they were yesterday. They have absolutely NO execution on offense. I've spoken to people who watched the game, and I guess it was just absolutely U-G-L-Y.

Defense won the game for them.

I would expect a MUCH better effort from Iowa State this week vs their intrastate rival Iowa.

...and if Fish is right, I'm NEVER going to hear the end of it because I still bet Iowa -7 despite his repeated pleas

Fish,

I am one who thinks Georgia is not as good as they played in Week 1 (meaning
Boise can't compete with big boys) and S. Carolina is not as bad as they played in 2nd half vs Central Florida who will be a good play until they win 1st game for O'Leary. S.Carolina has enough size to slow down Georgia running game though Georgia defense will stop their young quarterback. Expect a defensive game with more field goals than touchdowns but feel Spurrier had to get his feet wet in Game 1 which most of us gamblers overrated and which odds makers are underrating this week. Georgia wins but a lot less than the number and if USC gains some consistency in Spurrier's offense they could be live imo in this one. Best of luck.

Fish,

I expect a better effort from Iowa State but really feel they are not as good as people think. Iowa played undermanned and outclassed team but really feel they will have too much for Iowa State in this one. Your Hawks won't lose until they go to Purdue!

TT...like your play at -7 even though fishy doesn't. Iowa State struggled this weekend against my alma mater....I-AA Illinois State who are terrible! See another blowout coming from Iowa. Time for them to start beating the crap outta their in-state rivals again year to year!

You will hear very little from me if Iowa doesn't cover, I promise.

In my heart, I hope Iowa wins by 50+ points.

At this time, I have no plans to wager this game as it is way to tough for me to handicap..........and this from an individual that follows both these teams very closely.

This is a stupid statement, but this is the only way I would have or will wager this game.........Iowa at -3 or less or Iowa State getting +10 or more, and neither of those scenarios is likely to present itself.

ps--Current line has Iowa at -8

Understand your thinking Kojak.

I sure as heck will not be laying -17 points with Georgia, as Shockley still has to convince me of his worth vs tougher defenses.

Hawaii is inept on both sides of the ball. They were the worst road team ly of any team and an easy bet against. Mich St. is looking for some payback from losing on islands 2 years ago to cost them a bowl game. Line is starting to get out of line though now as value with Rainbows though I am not touching.
