I am going with a bunch of people to Las Vegas for a football weekend in October. We will spend 75% of our free time in the book watching College/NFL in the sportsbook. I am the one setting up reservations so I need to find the Casino. Sportsbook is #1 priority.

If price was not an option, what casino would you stay?

Mirage
MGM
Hilton
Caesars
Mandalay

I would think these are the nicest.

It depends what your likes/dislikes are for a sportsbook.
I don't like the books at Hilton or Ceasars because it's too dark in there for me.
Mirage is too small.
I haven't seen the one at MGM lately
I like the book at Mandaly Bay a lot.

MGM has a nice setting, but they aren't giving away free drinks. They do have those club boxes that are very nice, you can party with some friends and if you are a good customer they will comp it all.

Most books are too small anymore for football gamedays. Its pathetic, the books get more and more crowded each year and yet the casinos make them smaller or cut off access in some way. Its quite clear the casinos don't like the fact that the books don't make them much money, but its getting to be quite a bad situation. If you get to a book on Sunday morning at 8am you probably won't find a seat. If you get to a book at 10am you might not even get a viewing spot. The casinos love it, they hope you plop down at a casino bar with VP in your face and pay for your drinks.

just for the taste of it "diet coke" 8 cans a day

I stayed the Sunday and Monday of RX bash at MGM; and it was by far the nicest sportsbook I have seen. They had about 25 big screen tv's, very comfortable seating, and some nice eye candy. Only bad thing was they make you pay for your drinks, not comped or drink tickets given out but slots are close enough to throw in a few dollars to get some drinks. Highly recommend!
