First off, how come it's never mentioned that we (as in our government) KNEW about some countries accepting bribe money (Jordan for one) yet due to "strategic reasons" never said a word about it?

Secondly, how come the same people who claim to be "conservative" are more concerned with Oil for food money but continually avoid any talk of how our own military has somehow "lost" over 12 billion dollars? (3.5 billion in cash that Saddam had stored that has gone without accounting and 9 billion that we can't seem to account for).

I must be getting really old -- conservatives used to be the ones that freaked out over how our tax dollars were spent.

While there wont be an inquiry, the US administration in Iraq under Bremmer had billions unaccounted for.

No-one really gives a crap, just like with the oil-for-food scam, but it makes good copy.

The new American right aren't real conservatives, they're nationalists.
Fiscal responsibility doesn't matter to the new righties, they're just like the socialists where spending is concerned, (although the socialists do like higher taxes).
