This has letdown city written all over it folks. The Cardinals just got through playing there #1 rival in the CUBS. Even though the CUBS suck!!!!!!!!!!! They are the Cardinals #1 rival. Add to the fact that in Carpenters last start he started against his Cy Young competitor in Roger Cleamens winning the battle which some say nailed down his his bid for the Cy Young(even though I think Cleamens deserves it hands down). So you have a team that just finished playing the Cubs. You have a pitcher who just won his so called winning the Cy Young head to head matchup against the greatest pitcher since sliced bread. And you also have the #1 public team in all the National League to juice the line up way higher than it should. I see no sound reason to take the CARDS today.

Good Luck, but honestly I think the cards will do everything for a win tonight..no way, that Anna Benson shut down the Cards and CY Young will show ..WHY he is what he is***:hump:

Carpenter is the best Pitcher right now...and two letdowns against the cubs is enough...Shutout expected*

Cardinals 20-1 in first game of a series off of a loss.

Meaningless.

This stat is a perfect example of a meaningless stat that means absolutly nothing.

You know he was just sharing a stat. You don't have to come off like you're putting him down or saying it's ridiculous cause that's what it sounds like. You know there are two sides when it comes to betting. He just showed a stat that favors that side obviously. But of course it doesn't mean to take the Cards automatically. I know it won't change your mind. But don't need to sound like your saying he's stupid for posting that. Maybe that wasn't your intention but it comes off like that.

Some people like to play trends as crazy as the scenario may be sometimes. Others could care less.

How is that meaningless? Meaningless stat is when the Cardinal's scoreboard displays that So Taguchi is batting .413 with runners in scoring position when the bases are empty.

Cubs have had our number this year but after everytime we played the Cubs, we've won the next game and the series. Not much of a letdown there. Plus do you think Carp cares who he beat last time out, I don't think so.

Not sure how you can say Roger wins the CY Young hands down either.

Carpenter could care less about last outing He simply has been the best pitcher all year. By the way, he was 2-0 heads up against Clemens this year. Look for yey another stellar performance again, tonight.

If he said Andruw Jones deserves the MVP, he'd be right on both counts.

I dont know where you guys read that he said Clemens should win the Cy Young. He said that after Carpenter beat Clemens 4-2 in his last start he pretty much secured his Cy Young chances.

Yes, Andruw Jones should win MVP. However, its a bit bias since he is my favorite player!

and I agree with him. The ERA that Clemens has recorded this year is simply mind-boggling. His weak-hitting team has let him down countless times - they have been shut out in at least 8 of his starts I believe. If Clemens pitched for the Cardinals he'd probably be like 24-2 this season.

Well im saying it right now. Roger Cleamens does deserve the Cy Young. Sorry to the Card fans on this. If Cleamens got the run support of Carpenter he would be 30-0 right now. The road ERA is sick!!!!!! ERA is a much better indicator than wins in my book. You can win a game by a score of 10 to 9. You can lose a game by the the score 1-0. And yes Andrew Jones gets my vote for MVP.

Andrew is batting .270, does a mvp bat .270? Roger is a great pitcher but Carp's ERA is right above Clemens and then matchup the rest of stats W/L, strikeouts, complete games, innings pitched,. Chop your a braves fan you take andrew, I'm a cardinal fan I'll take albert,

You are right Edub, my bad.

A-1 . . I said it was a very bias opinion. In all honesty D. LEE or A. PUJOLS deserve this. Lee isnt on a winning team though so its gotta be Pujols.

I can't see the mets winning here.Terrible on the road even worse at Stl.Scoring about 2.5 runs a game last 10 games.Average to below average pitcher in Benson.Going against the best team in baseball with their best pitcher(who gets good run support) going.Unless Benson pitches a 4-5 hitter(possible but not likely) they lose.I see what you are saying about letdown spot being possible but not after losing two in a row.

I agree the line is too high, but Carpenter is money in the bank. After two losses to the Flubs, I look for a good performance from the Birds. The Cardinals and Mets have a pretty good rivalry too. I still have my Mets Suck hat from 1982.
