He doesn't have the work ethic required to sustain greatness for a long enough period of time. Jerry Rice did it year in and year out for too many years for Moss to touch his numbers. But athletically, he is a freak and is the most dangerous offensive player in football right now.

It is a shame he doesn't have Rice's work ethic because he is an absolute freak with his ability to outjump everyone and make plays downfield.

Too undisciplined a route runner, and doesn't have the work ethic to work hard every down. He has already squandered too much of his early career to ever carry Jerry Rice's jock.

Raymond Berry also far exceeded him in maximizing his God-given abilities.

Is he the best in today's game?..probably..with TO up there..and alphabet in Cincy closing fast.

You'd be suprised by his work ethic....works just as hard, if not harder than any receiver in the game right now in the offseason...i just don't think he'll stick around as long as Jrice did....he's top receiver in the league without question....the real question is how long he will play.....he'll keep passin records as long as he plays, but just don't see him stickin around. Best in the game by far right now!! Oakland put up a fight tonight and KCollins fumble didn't help very much!

Rice - 1st 7 years
526 catches for 9072 yards
93 TD's

Moss - 1st 7 years
574 catches for 9142 yards
90 TD's.

You look at Rice's first 7 years and think that's impressive...wait till the season is over!!

No need to remember anything. I'm pretty sure you said he was dominating Rice's #'s in the first 7 years -- no mention of season 8 or beyond. Unless I'm missing something - their numbers are almost identical.

I don't dispute his skill - nor do I dispute his numbers. But WTF does his 8th season have to do with the fact that you said he was dominating his records for the first 7 years - he isn't.

Even numbers, but JR was on a Super Bowl team that had Roger Craig needing carries, clock burning, and JR's 49er counterpart reciever was arguably at some juncture right behind Cris Carter as the 3rd best WR in the game, with Walsh spreading the field often with a wealth of options, and ease .

Also TO was on many bad Niner teams as the only option, and Moss also on one trick pony Vike teams that were mostly 8-8 squads that play in the wide-open era of NFL ball, sans Carter and the nice late '90s Vike teams.

Moss has some aspects that are superior, but overall..no way.

apparently you forgot about his rookie season of 15-2!!! and the team choking that year in what would've been a blowout SUPERBOWL win!! Not moss's fault!

"His" rookie season of 15-2 - but the "team" choked.

Wow - maybe it's Randy typing these messages -- sure sounds like him.

Jerry Rice is and will be the best. But right now to me Randy is the best WR in the game.
