If you only have one semester left, and will graduate at the end of it, the NCAA only requires you to take one class to be eligible. No joke, Leinert is taking only one class, and he's taking Ballroom Dancing with his girlfriend.

Most athletes take one or two classes during their sports season and then make it up by taking many more the rest of the year, including summer school. I knew a bunch of players when I was in college and only one took anything close to a full load, but he was a books first, sports second kind of guy.

i have ZERO problem with this

this is his 5th year at USC

all he needs is this 2 unit class to GRADUATE!

this means he worked hard for 4 years to get to this point. he EARNED the right to be 2 units shy and take a B.S. course to get his degree

i have NO PROBLEM with what he is doing

Wild Bill- unless you are graduating, you have to take 12 hours.

I know, I just think it's funny. I would do the same, although I don't think any girl could get me to take Ballroom Dancing. I would take Golf or Bowling or something.

News to me, I remember one guy on the UW baseball team taking two accounting classes and that was it. That would be 6 or 7 credits. He took 6 classes for 19 credits in the fall quarter. He took a full load in the summer and graduated. Maybe they changed the rules, this was back in 93.

I played D3 sports from '94 to '96, and our AD went over the NCAA's eligiblity requirements with us. I doubt the rules changed the year before I got there. Maybe the U of Wash is guilty of academic fraud, like 50% of the other schools.

if i am taking a class with a g/f - that class is something along the lines of: Kama Sutra 101 or Co-Ed Naked Hot Oil Wrestling or Skinny Dipping

He was a scholarship player, he bought me lunch often since they gave them far too much money to spend in campus food outlets. Maybe he was taking some other class I didn't know about because a lot of his tests were given by proctors. But I know he was a serious student because he would call me up for help while out on the road with our accounting class. The guy turned out well too, he is a CFO today.
