*************

Leading alternative payment firm NETeller has set its sights on dominating the European and Asian markets following stunning growth with net profits up 210%.

NETeller, which operates primarily as an eWallet provider, showed record customer numbers of 868,335 for the six months ended June 2005.

Total revenues for were up 122% to US$73.5m compared to the same period last year, with pre-tax profits leaping 126% to US$40.6m.

Isle of Man-based NETeller, which has derived most of its revenue from the US to-date, also said it had seen strong growth in European revenues.

The firm relaunched its site for the European market, and signed two key European online gaming clients during the period.

Betting exchange giant Betfair and Swedish sportsbook Expekt both added NETeller to their payment options.

And the firm also has high expectations from its Asian business, with the integration of its eWallet system with the Chinese payment system 1Pay expected by Q4 2005.

1Pay, the leading debit card processor in China, was acquired by NETeller in January 2005, and the firm also has plans for a Japanese payment system to be launched by the end of the year.

Gord Herman, chief executive of Neteller, said the remainder of the year would be crucial to its future success in the region.

“The next six months will be key to our expansion in Europe, strengthening our foothold in Asia, and the implementation of the next-generation web-based platform," Herman said.

Still an option... $50k max per transaction, puts a mockery on the $2500 per some books claim is the most they can do.

I use Betfair with neteller pretty much every day. The only reason Betfair is not No1 in the RX Top Books chart is that it's difficult for americans to maintain an account there.

That's very good to hear, as Betfair site only lists moneybookers-- i guess the neteller option will appear on or subsequent to the signup page.

I think Betfair's the Google of betting-- i will buy their stock as soon as they go public.

I've been doing a lot of research on how to join them from within the US-- there are several underground ways to do this-- don't think i should go any further so as not to rock the cart & spoil anyone's good thing.
And there's also the legit way, which involves relevant costs: virtual office or physical presence in one of a number of countries, w/ an accompanying bank account & atm/credit card. To take it further for those wanting to be on the up & up w/ Uncle Sam, a business corp in that country would also be a good idea-- then you'd have an American hedge/invest corp with an international branch doing business overseas.

If there was a demand for it, i'd be willing to establish & sell such packages...but with EHorse due to re-start any day now, besides others already on scene, not too sure that many folks here would realize the value of Betfair.

As those who live overseas would attest-- one's money there is as safe as Fort Knox-- much safer than the best-respected carib books mentioned here. And that'd be for the simple reason that any of those caribs can pretty much do whatever they want-- current magmt could turn to the dark side, sell out to a pirate, go broke...

I absolutely agree, and it's a fact most people don't realize.

Edit: Also, about betfair & neteller, I think they now have 24h withdrawal processing, even if they don't advertise that on their site, because I withdraw pretty much any time of day and as of about 10 days ago, I receive my money within 40 minutes without relevance of the hour.

Edit: Or to explain, when I need money, about 2 hours before going out what usually happens is Betfair->Neteller->Neteller debit card->Cash. And for anybody wondering, no betfair doesn't have charges on withdrawals. I've made 4 withdrawals in one day.(probably a record for an awful customer...lol)

Thanks for the extra info, Zee.

I would like to see Neteller become more mainstrem/widespread-- this way theír fees would come down, making them ideal for everyday, normal use...

Yeah, WU is usurious & disgusting-- For how big they were once, if they'd been smart, they could've took over & exploded entire business segments: travelers checque money order / wire transfer / check-cash / billpay / prepaid atm&credit card businesses...

Though the one thing they're very good for is(hypothetically-speaking only:wink: )-- say you get pinched in a remote location(esp. somewhere you don't have acquaintances) that doesn't accept cc-- with your one allotted phone call use WU to wire yourself bail money(request hand-delivery)-- the money will be there so fast, usually before you're done being processed. This is usually much faster(& cheaper) than finding & waiting for a lawyer/bondsman to even get to you, you get to skip waiting to be taken before a judge...

Just change the Netteller name to Bet-teller...because that how they make their $$.. They are able to Launder our profits and clean them up to redeposit into a US bank...what a concept. Drug Dealers wish they could have it this easy...
