Last week, he called all of his timeouts with 15 seconds left at Michigan, trailing by 16 with a line of 18. It was like he was begging Lloyd Carr to kick the field goal and cover on 4th down. Nobody could understand WTF this guy was doing calling the timeouts. They showed Carr, and he even looked flaggergasted on the sidelines. I guess he laid the points on Michigan, his alma mater, where he played under Schembechler. This week, it appeared that he bet on his team +2.5. Cause after they scored with 7 seconds left to cut it to 1, this guy went for two. Who goes for two in that situation? It's a total lack of faith in your team, and sends a terrible message to them that you think they are not the better team. Kick the extra point and give your team a chance to win. I guess he didn't want to risk not covering, since he had already won his bet.
I guess I can't accuse the guy based on two games. But it begs the question. I know I'll be watching his every move closely. I was also very suspicious last week, when Texas A&M's coach kicked the extra point with 10 minutes left to go up by 2. Pretty dumb move, unless you have the Aggies -1.5.
